After about 1500mi, can't say I'm a fan of it. Thing shifts like a bag of rocks, and honestly, it's kindof annoying how low it wants to stay all the time. Mine doesn't shudder (yet), as others have posted, but it sure feels clunky. Few questions for others-

Have you had the transmission reprogrammed, and if yours shifted roughly before, did this help?

Is there a way to reprogram the shift points, so that shy of highway driving, it behaves more like a 5/6 speed? If so, has anyone done this, or would it cause any problems? Not sure I can deal with this "fix it till it's broken" green transmission scenario longterm, and planned to own this truck for quite some years.

Thanks!

I just cleared 1000 miles on my Tremor and its shifts fine even with the 37's. But this is my second 10R80, which is an amazing transmission. It does have it quirks and some you just get use to. I had weird shifting on my 10 speed Expy and it did help to get it reset and relearn my driving style. especially after installing the 35" tires. Have you paid attention to the gear indicator on the clunky shifts? Is it skipping gears? Going from 2 to 4th or maybe even 6th? During normal light load driving it does act like the 6 speed. If you have a littler heavier foot sometime it will shift clunky. Does it have the clunky shift in sport and eco? If so I would have the dealer look at it and reset if if they can't find anything wrong with it.

Mines at 600 miles and most of the time you can't tell it shifts

Can always get a transmission tune from one of the tuning companies out there.

I have 15k on mine and I’ve been pretty impressed with the transmission. Mine seems to shift smooth even with the 35s. I would have yours looked at.

Thanks fellas. Think I'll take it into dealership next week then. I've been pretty tame with it since day one, but it's also shifted pretty roughly since day one. It does seem to "miss gears" while decelerating especially, but figured the display just wasn't tracking quickly enough. I'll drive in sport/eco a bit tomorrow and see if anything changes, haven't spent too much time in these.

Far as engine speed, unless I get my foot in it a bit, seems like the tach doesn't really budge much from about 1500. Would just prefer the gears to wind out a bit more.

If you get the Livernois tuner, you can tune the transmission. Last I checked they were the only tuner available that you could. I belive it has to do with encryption, and Livernois being the only tuner Ford would allow to do it or something.

Is that a big dummy project here at home, for someone who's never tuned anything on a vehicle?

You did it?
If you did transmission I'm guessing you already did the tune, if so how do you like the 93 octane map, is it a nice improvement, worth the $.
Does it void warranty?

Tia
Also would like to know about voiding warranty.

Common sense would say if Ford is giving them encryption info for the transmission tune, then it wouldn't Void the warranty. That being said, I'm curious to know for sure as well haha

It should not void the warranty, but it is reversible if that worries you.
