2024 F-150 Tremor 402A
Hey All,

I am officially a member of the F-150 Tremor club now. This past weekend, I picked up my 2024 F-150 Tremor 402A Coyote V8 in Texas, and drove it back home to Miami. I got a decent enough deal/pretty damn good deal.....certainly not my BEST work ever, but enough to where I was indeed quite satisfied, and pulled the trigger, especially considering the (albeit brutal at 36 months) 0.9% interest offer with the current economic climate. That said, I have various ideas in mind as it pertains to what I wish to "mod" about it over time, however, I'm not exactly sure where I should post them, so that I may get some guidance from more seasoned members of the Forum. Perhaps I should enumerate them in a list here, and then pick at each idea individually? Anyway, this is my first official NEW vehicle ever at 36 years old, and while I wish to ensure that I do things exactly how I "want", more importantly, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO ME THAT I DO THEM CORRECTLY. I am a "do it right, or don't do it AT ALL" type of person. If you can't afford to do something right, you either don't do it, or wait until you can afford to do it. That has always been my governing philosophy, and it has served me very well throughout my entire life. Anyway, I truly look forward to collaborating and sharing my truck's progress over time going forward!

Congrats and welcome!

First mod: get some dirt on it.
Second mod: repeat first mod until bored of mod two.

I always recommend enjoying the truck in its stock form before you molest it with lights and [matching orange skid plate, if you know you know]😂.

Have fun with it. Enjoy the 5.0 while it’s fresh and your tires are still short and light. Go hit a trail. Send some pics!

Haha. While I won’t be doing that initially, I certainly will eventually!

For now, I DO have some priorities:

1. Axe those shitty ass incandescent license plate light bulbs for LED ones. I already ordered some Phillips 194’s on Amazon that someone else recommended on here. That should do the trick.

2. This, while not cheap, is DEFINITELY A PRIORITY. GET RID OF THAT COYOTE UGLY (pun intended) GRILL AND SHITTY ASS REFLECTOR LIGHTS on the front end for projectors. This shit was one BIZARRE move by Ford in 2024, and has the design of which is so ugly, that only a Mother could love it. Seeing as this project is “no joke”, care to point me in the right direction here? I’ve read various threads on the matter, but, could use some official guidance as it pertains to my situation. Is it even doable and does it affect warranty (I added lighting to my 175,000 mile Ford PremiumCARE package), is a better question…..I am HAPPY to use ALL Ford parts for this endeavor. On a related note, personally, I LOVE the new taillights, so at least that’s a consolation prize in my case.

3. Add multi-color Ambient Lighting to it (and add back the portions that were taken away like the cup holder, phone bin, and glovebox at the same time). I know that this requires working in FORScan, for which I could use some pointers as well (happy to read my own guides/watch instructional videos, if pointed in the right direction).

4. Kill Auto-Start Stop from automatically engaging.

5. Add the CHMSL bed camera.

That’s all I can think of for now, but I’m SURE more will come to me eventually. Later today, I’m getting a Line-X liner put in it (either Premium or Max), then within the next few days, tint. I’ll certainly upload some picture as those things (and the aforementioned others) progress!

On a final note, PLEASE feel free to offer any opinions/guidance on other things I should/shouldn’t do, or what I should/shouldn’t do as it pertains to what I mentioned above. I ALWAYS welcome commentary for educational purposes!

Congrats and welcome to the club and forum.

Did you purchase your Ford ESP from your selling dealer?

As far as swapping out your headlights, forget about
adding the projector / bending headlights that are available on higher trim F150’S. There was a member on here who had the same idea and he was never heard from again. 🤣
Even if you were able to add them, it’s highly doubtful that the lighting coverage on your Ford ESP would cover them because your VIN# indicates how your vehicle was equipped from the factory.

Since you live in FL, your very first mod should be window tint.

Are you interested in a tonneau cover?

Congrats and welcome! Agree with both PNW and CAMDENN. Enjoy it in its stock form (road and offroad) and then you'll have an idea of what you may want to do. I haven't checked but maybe Morimotto (spelling?) has some nights that may help your opinion of the front end.

I have done air bags, tint, A-pillar lights, husky fender liners, stub antenna, and a screen protector. Haven't towed with the air bags yet so this may change, but I think my favorite addition has been a three way tie between the fender liners, stub antenna, and the screen protector. The stock antenna was distracting to me, white with no liners looked horrible IMHO, and the screen had stood many finger marks l, plus I didn't want to scratch it. Window tint is a real must in Florida. I didn't realize how bad it needed it until it was done.

Anyway, good luck, congrats, and welcome!

Couple folks in the area with a load of shit done that would likely be more than willing to be bad influences on mods...i think @Cranbery is closest and @Cblaxx19 is a bit north

Def tint and a matte screen protector for our weather though. Prob decent floormats shortly thereafter for similar reasons.

As for my Ford ESP, yes, indeed I did. I got it so close to Grainger’s price from the dealership, that I just went ahead and rolled it into my total purchase. Plus, as a Florida resident, it just made it easier than skirting around things with a different address with Grainger/Flood/Ziegler…..even though I would have had ZERO compunction about doing so.

As for the headlights and grill, I THINK I know which individual/thread that you are referring to. While not a burning fire, those current ones are just COYOTE UGLY, and will peck at my OCD until I do something about it. I CERTAINLY trust you all and your guidance on the matter, especially now, but, surely in time a will will (See what I did there?…..) be found to create the way. There just HAS to be a way on this one…..HAS TO BE. Even if I have to damn the lighting coverage of my Ford ESP for it. The truck is just so damn amazing otherwise.

As for Florida and window tint, I don’t even consider that a “mod”. That’s a goddamn REQUIREMENT. I’m probably going to go out to Brian’s Window Tinting in Hollywood, as I usually do…..unless y’all have some other advice. I’ve been torn between what they use, which has treated me well enough over the years (Flexfilm Panaflex, or Nanoflex), and 3M Crystalline, Llumar, or Xpel Pro. My only caveat is ceramic ONLY! Haha. I’m open to taking advice here as well.

As for the tonneau cover, no, not really. My previous F-150 had one, and it became a problem in time, until I just said “FUCK IT”, and took the damn thing off.

Thanks for the reply!

Thanks! This community just seems so amazing, welcoming, AND well read. Thus, I look forward to continuing to engage with you all going forward.

That said, I’m actually not a huge “modder” by definition, as a general rule. But, I still “want things the way that I want them”, within reason. I welcome the advice of the individual that you mentioned at any time. The mods that you have elected to do are certainly interesting, and ones which I might indeed consider myself in due time…..the one that peaks my interest the most is the airbags. What exactly have you done there?…..I never really thought of a mod for those! As for Rear Wheel Well Liners, that’s already done. Dealership did it for me as a courtesy (literally), even after I signed all paperwork and everything. It was a great gesture on their part.

As for tint, as I mentioned above to another user, DEFINITELY. I’ll probably hit up Brian’s Window Tinting in Hollywood (they use Flexfilm Panaflex, and I haven’t really had problems with it), unless you have further guidance. I’m all ears.

Thanks again for the welcome!

Cool! I welcome their correspondence. Tint is without a question, as mentioned multiple times already above. I never really thought of a matte screen protector for the console head unit. I may well look into that…..

First thing would be to go look at the front end with projector lights. Then look at your grill. Then look at the projectors again.

If you can reconcile those two things I applaud you.

Welcome.

That sounds like a giant middle finger, or extremely custom work that would need to be done. I would plan on replacing the grill as well. Eh, I’ll probably give up the ghost here for now. It’s SUCH a cool truck otherwise. Those lights just piss me off so much, ESPECIALLY on a truck this expensive…..

So tell us what you payed for it ? I bought the same truck with the 3.5. I was 82,000. Out the door cash

Just missed the OCD plug groupbuy deal but Spigen has one that works great too. Certain angles the gloss bugged me even with ticketworthy tint levels.

I was $77,000, EVEN. Partly financed (can’t beat 0.9%, although 36 months is BRUTAL!), with a FAT downpayment. When did you buy yours?

Tampa , Florida Elder Ford, Didn't get the color I wanted tho. Antimatter Blue !! It's ok, Like Black. All my other trucks were Black. You got a pretty good Buy. Mine was new on the lot, after I drove it it had 42 miles on it . I got mine 6/5/24 , put 7200 miles on it. I have changed the oil in it 4 times , first oil change was 1000 miles. It's it a bitch to do. The only up grade I have done is a set of old rim and M/T tires on it, I use for off road. I have another set of 20' rims and tires I'll run next hunting season. It's muddy here in Florida where I hunt !! Enjoy that V-8 , Just try and Keep up !! HA , HA !! I see your in M- Florida, Cool

Welcome - sounds like you have a fun road ahead of you. Definitely agree with PNW and others - the benefit of enjoying the stock truck first is that - when the initial enthusiasm starts to wear off, the next big mod will give you a brand new fix . . rinse and repeat. This forum will definitely help you spend your money. I would browse through the Tremor of the month contest threads - not just the current one, go back a few months. If that doesn't get your juices rolling, I don't know what will.

I did put a Husky Hood Protector on it , It was under 100.00 , Looks great. It doesn't do anything for the bugs, but works great for the rocks.

For all you that might know the wright way to go ? Lift in the Front no more than 2.5 or 2" . I have read so much + or - on here about it. I'm OCD when it come's to things like that. All my other trucks had 2.5 Leveling kit on them. help
