I added the F150 Side Vent Lighting. It’s added to the parking light circuit — off with Daytime Running Lights. Use the parking light adapter to avoid splicing into factory wiring.

Needed:

- 2021 F150 Side Vent Lighting Kit

- Ford Parking Light Adapter (don’t splice into factory wiring)

- 3/8 in. D 10 ft Protective Wire Wrap

- Low Voltage 3-way connector

- Waterproof Heat Shrink Butt Connectors

- Black Zip Ties

Yeah, it just begged to be illuminated at night — perfect color for the Tremor theme.

I want to do something upfront — I am thinking the amber daytime running lights like the raptor would be pretty nice.

I get what you are trying to do, but the DRL on the Raptor are not the amber lights. They are actually so dim in the daylight that they wouldn't be much value. They only come on with the parking lights. The Raptor uses the headlights as the DRL.

No kidding, I didn’t realize that - so the 2021 Raptor uses the headlights as the DRL and the halo is just a parking light?

Yep, DOT actually regulates the brightness of the front ambers and when they are technically supposed to be illuminated. I just leave my switch in the "auto" setting and don't think about it much. Some people do switch them in FORScan, but they lose the light intensity for sure. I'd rather people see me coming than care about the styling. My fogs are bright enough they could work as DRL. They are manual on the AUX switch because the Gen 2 Raptor didn't come with any factory fogs. I do wish they had a factory fog switch I could just leave on anytime the headlights are on. I forget my AUX switches are on all the time. Went halfway to work the other day with my rear lights on because I forgot to turn them off after parking at home the night before....haha.

Actually @P0H0, I may be wrong about the 2021 not using them. I am now reading some conflicting things. I'm asking in the Gen 3 group.

LOL

The fog lights on the Tremor is tied to the headlights — no aux required.

I had the 2019 Limited and there was a recall to dim the DRL — apparently it was set at 100% brightness at night, and with the headlights and fogs it was blinding other drivers. It was a very noticeable difference when they lowered the brightness. That’s when I discovered Forscan and changed them back. I also made it so the fog lights stay on with high beams — I am sure if I was blinding the other guy before, I was doing a much better job of it later ;-).

I would think you can turn up the Amber lights brightness in Forscan.

Yeah, that would be interesting to know. I just think the amber fits the Active Orange Tremor theme well. If I changed them to amber, I would look to also add a light bar or something.

I got confirmation. They did switch with this generation and they DO use the amber halos as the DRL.

Skip to 3:10 in this video and you get a very quick look at them. Also the preview cover photo for this video shows them.

The amber DRLs look awesome — imagine them with an ADD Stealth Bumper.

I think they look great, but I think the ones on my Gen 2 would be far more effective. Way brighter....not even comparable.

So with so much knowledge about the Raptor here, lets get back to our Tremors. How do we get the amber halos for DRL on our Tremors?

Yeah I agree, not even a reasonable option.

Maybe someone that’s interested can reach out to Matt Meredith about how “plug and play” his mods are.

Those are also RGB so an amber setting would be easy.

Okay…. I wonder if Matt Meredith is using another product from Oracle Lights:

You know, I wonder if these Oracle Lights can be cut down in size to fit the vents — I think adding a defused light to the vents would eliminate the LED dots reflecting off the paint at certain angles:

I wonder if there is a flexible LED light tube that can be purchased, cut down in length to defuse the existing F150 LED Lights, and will still fit into the vent — below is a photo of a tube defuser:
