2022 - 4x4 grinding sounds in 2H, will not engage to 4H or 4A, EIWE?

Hello all,

Curios if anyone has a fix for this.

In last last few weeks I’ve been hearing an intermediate grinding in the cab while in 2H. It does not happen all the time and when it does it will grind for a few seconds and then stop for a few minutes. Other drives, there is no sound at all seems like when there is sounds it’s on longer drives. When I try to shift to 4A I get a wrench icon and 4x4 cannot engage pop up which goes away when I select 2H.

I’m guessing it’s an issue with the EIWE, do you recommend a full replacement or is there something I should try first?

I think this is the TSB. I had it done to my 2022 Tremor because of the growling in 2WD and grinding when engaging AWD or 4WD. Dealer did the repair under warranty, seems to be fine now.

I am not but I do have the extended warranty.

I have had the TSB done on both sides now, then it came back and they said that the drivers side front hub was causing the issue so they replaced that on my dime. The issue has come back again and as soon as I put the vehicle into 4A the grinding goes away, if I go back to 2WD the sound is back but they do not think it is the EIWE. It is my primary vehicle and I now need to rent a vehicle while they diagnose the issue.
