Man, every part of that truck pops.

yeah just ordered the raised letters for the F-150 tailgate! will probably get the sliding window one too! woo hoo!

What flaps are those? Great looking truck!

muflaps are Gatorbacks. Purchased from Ford accessory website on Black Friday sale. No drilling required. All hardware included.

That looks great. What did you do for a tailgate seal?

Used the stock seal rubber gasket that is included by Retrax. I have not tested it yet, but I suspect a small amount of leakage is inevitable.

I used a Retrax seal as well and it makes my tailgate shut extremely hard. I also noticed at the top of the tailgate it’s oddly enough not thick enough to fill the gap. I’m going to have to work on mine some.

Did you provide the 1/8" gap between the rails and the tailgate? I installed the Retrax myself and there is a gap measurement widget that is provided. Check YouTube install videos for more details.

I ordered a Retrax XR yesterday and going to pick up today. So far are you happy with its operation and quality?

Well I’m not exactly sure what you are referring to. I made the mistake of having the dealer install it because I just wanted it ready whenever I picked it up. Hindsight I wish I wouldn’t have.

just took the Tremor with Retrax for the first time through a car wash. About 4 tablespoons of water seeped in near the tailgate. Most of the water was on the tailgate work surface. So the seal is pretty good IMHO

Looks great! I installed the same Retrax cover and wonder how the Bull rings are working for you. Does the ring itself make contact with the rail? As for water intrusion- I’ve had the same experience. Very little water after heavy rain or a car wash and I didn’t install the additional tailgate “gasket kit” with the thought that water can still drain if needed.

Just installed the Retrax XR last night. The guy at the shop told me not to open the cover for 48 hours to allow the seal to be probably seated to prevent any leaking. It doesn’t rain much here in socal but I will try the hose later.

You'd have to have gotten the retrax cover variant that has slots for the bullring openings. I got the one that has the rails for sliding in racks and that one doesn't give you the option to have the slots for the bullring, it covers them (as far as I know at least).

10-4 that sounds right. I wanted the T-channel for accessories- Ski/bike/kayak rack.

I have the Retrax Pro XR with the T-slots. I took a chance and ordered the Bull Rings with a 45 degree angle, they just fit. But, the ring is angled 45 degress outwards away from the truck. Still provides for a convenient and strong tie down point. I can still pull out the ring with my fingers. NOTE: Best if you install the Bull Ring before installing the Retrax.
