I've purchased LED vent lights (https://www.f150leds.com/collections/2021-f150/products/2021-f150-exterior-side-vent-led-lighting) and have come to find that the installation video from F150Led.com (
) is not accurate based on manufacturing changing made in mid-2021. I have a 2022 F-150 Tremor 402A with adaptive headlights. I absolutely don't want to splice the factory wiring (given the potentially "temporary" nature of the installation) so I purchased the Starkey adaptor (https://www.starkey-products.com/Ford-F150-Parking-Lights-Adapter-LED-Headlights-2021-2022) when I realized that this adapter only supports the drivers side parking lights.

My question is really simple for those who know (I don't and don't want to mess this whole thing up), should I just slice the passenger side with the drivers-side adapter? The adapter is constant 5w supply. Seems it would accommodate that draw when it supports an entire "raptor-style" lighting. Is there any downside other than concealing the wires that the collective foresees?

Well, for what it's worth I went for it. It works.

I may be doing this soon so that’s good to know.

Did anyone do an install where the lights could turn on when DRL's are turned on but also be turned off with an upfitter switch?

Appreciate you being the ginny pig. Was also planning to splice driver/passenger vent lights, as I want to hook some grill lights to the opposite DRL. So, vent lights to driver, grill lights to passenger, type thing, via Starkey harnesses. Thanks for posting that install video.

The current draw on the Side vent led's and the grill lights are so incredibly low...I'm planning on hooking everything to the passenger side DRL using that starkey harness unless others have tried that unsuccessfully?

If you are talking about the Starkey Headlight adapter for 2021-2022
Please Note: This adapter will work on ALL Driver Side headlights (Left Hand) for 2021-2023. Ford made a mid-year production change to the Passenger Side headlights (Right Hand) which will not allow the adapter to function properly. Likely this change was made after June 2021 production although Ford has not published the exact date of the change. Please know if your truck was produced after this time frame, the adapter will likely ONLY work on the Driver Side headlight connection.

If not - never mind ;)

Went ahead and threw these on today, via Starkey connectors. Went with standard install (didn't feel like removing vents). Have to say, they look pretty sweet in person, perfect brightness for accent.

Did you hook the starkey connector to passenger or driver side or did you use two connectors?

I just used two, since I ditched idea of adding grille lights (to the other DTR connector). If i remember correctly, the wire for the vent lights was just BARELY too short to reach across engine bay and down the quarter panel without splicing, and since I already had the second connector I'd intended to use for grille lights, figured why not.

With the Starky Adapter on the drivers side. Wouldnt it make most sense to runt he passenger side vent wiring across and tie into the drivers side as well and just have both vent lights pull off of it? Seems like the amp draw would be insignificant.

Amp draw insignificant I'm sure, yeah, and was what I'd planned to do. But vent light wire was a bit short, and already had a second connector, so just made life simple for myself.

This is pretty interesting. I recently saw a complaint on Putco's site about issues plugging their emblem adaptor in on the passenger side. The mid year change might explain why only some are having issues with that.

Lights were from F150LEDS yeah, and connectors from Starkey. Just make sure you get correct connectors for your style of headlight.
Hey bud, can i trouble you for the link to the starkey connector, will scroll through to see if it is there. Did you say you used 2 Starkey connectors, one for each side?

Are you saying you extended the wiring on the passenger side vent light all the way over to the driver's side and then spliced in again into the drivers side vent light wiring and then into one starkey connector? Thanks

Sounds like he used 2 Starkey connectors, but also wondering myself if it was 1 or 2....
