so this is where I have tied to adjust this tolerance for when I get a warning about exceeding the speed limit. You are supposed to adjust this setting from 0-20 MPH over the speed limit. Mine would not move off of 0MPH, after many trips to my dealer, female salesperson was able to get it to change and stay at 5MPH. But I want it at about 15MPH ( that is where we have it set in our Ram 3500 and is a perfect setting for us). So on the touch screen you can move the needle (lets say) from 5MPH to a new and wanted setting of 15MPH over the speed limit, it stays there for 1-2 seconds, then goes back to the 5MPH setting. I have had my truck in the local dealership here in Utah, they tried updating modules, got ford involved, after 3-4 days at the shop. Ford came back and said to connect your vehicle to you house Wi-Fi, Ford will send an update at night to fix the issue, we have had it connected and in the garage at night for 3 weeks, still not finished. Has anyone experienced the same issue or any ideas, also should I see a notification when an update has occurred? We only have about 550 miles on her, so she is pretty much still new….any suggestions would be appreciated…..Dan

Hey Dan, I can't offer any advice on this particular issue but you may consider removing your address from your profile.

When I go into my settings it only allows me to go up to 5 mph. I figured that was the standard max allowed?

Mine for sure goes at least to ten over. Scared the crap out of me when It misread a 60 sign as 80 and took me to 90.

Are we talking about the speed limit warning on the speedometer that flashes if you go over set amount? Or are we talking about setting the cruise control/adaptive driving or whatever the heck it is these days?

Oh I'm sorry, you're right, I misunderstood. Now I'll have to see where mine warns me. I think I was able to set it higher than 5 over though. I'll report back.

OK I looked at mine, it also will not let me go above five, if I go higher, it just bounces back down to five. I’ve never noticed that because I always keep it off.

Don't know if this will be any help.

ADJUSTING THE SET SPEED TOLERANCE

  1. Press Features on the touchscreen.
  1. Press Driver Assistance.
  1. Press Cruise Control.
  1. Press Adaptive Cruise Control.
  1. Press Speed Sign Recognition.
  1. Press Tolerance.
  1. Use + and - to set the tolerance.
Note: You cannot set the tolerance more than 20 mph (30 km/h) above or below the recognized speed.

It worked for me. But I’m not sure how much I liked using it haha. A lot of times the speedometer gets the speed limit wrong. Like my one road home, it goes from 40 to 50. But Ford thinks it goes from 40 to 50 to 15 to 60 to 50 haha. But mine did work. I have a MY23.

No when you push the info button it actually says 0-20 MPH,

It is a speed tolerance ,so yes it is a speed limit warning….. so if the speed limit is 60MPH, you have the tolerance set at 15MPH over the speed limit, if you go 76MPH, it will give you a warning of some kind. In our 2017 Ram 3500 it gives a verbal a verbal warning over the speakers, telling you that the speed limit is 60MPH……mine will not go above 5MPH over the speed limit, lets face it, on the freeway’ s, I will probably exceed 6+ MPH over the speed limit. The cruise control tolerance is adjusting fine…..

I like the feature set at about 13-15MPH for freeway driving

This is for the cruise control, that tolerance is working fine with the adjustment, mine is for just your speed in general

Interesting, 2023…works fine

Guys, I am like a dog on a bone, I want it fixed, so I will stay at it, if I get an answer and get it fixed, I will pass it along to everyone….I appreciate all the info

Ok I just set mine for 15 mph over and hit the back button, at 15 mph over the speed limit it flashes at me but when you go back in to set tolerance it still shows 0 mph , however it still flashes once you go over 15mph above the speed limit. Not sure why it works that way but that's what mine does.

I am wondering if it has any relation to street sign recognition that overwrites the feature? I am going to check on a couple of the vehicles here at work

Mine is working like I initially set it but when you open up the tolerance it only shows 0mph, but with it set at 15mph over it does start warning at that speed, even though it show in the tolerance as 0.

I believe it does. When the speed limit changes, you should still be the number of mph over you set it to.
