2021 F150 Tremor
Earlier this year, I was on the fence as whether to buy a 2021 F150 Tremor or wait for the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro. After seeing Toyota’s “big reveal,” I’m glad I went with the Tremor.

What do you guys think of the new 2022 Tundra’s look?

I don't like the front bumper, or should I say lack of one! I also think with the increased width and options they are doing on the Tundra Pro the Raptor is their target. I wouldn't be interested in it for the same reason I'm exiting the Raptor. I'll be curious to see if the TRD Off-Road model will be more comparable to the Tremor or the FX4.

Not a fan of the new Tundra. I was a Toyota guy for years and years: 1993 Pickup (pre-Tacoma), 2004 Tacoma TRD, 2014 Tundra Limited. That was uninterrupted Toyota time...23 years. Like JPO said, I'm glad I didn't hold out for the new Tundra. It looks like they went for "edgy" instead of cool confidence. The Tremor exudes cool. The new Tundra, especially the TRD Pro, looks like something from a Transformers movie. Given that it's a Toyota, there's no doubt it will be extremely capable and reliable. But the look is very polarizing, and my bet is that it doesn't sell well.

Yeah, all my other vehicles are Toyota. I even have a 2005 4-Runner with over 255k miles, and it’s still going strong. I was ready to add the Tundra to the mix, but their technology was so far behind Ford… and now that they have better technology, they’ve created an ugly truck. The Tremor was a no-brainer for what I was wanting. No regrets.

Hmmmmmmmm

The Toyota Rebe..Tundra can only be compared to the FX4 as far as capability is concerned. That front locker is a game changer for a trail ride. ZR2 is the only current 1/2 ton that is announced with the same capability. My opinion still stands, though. I compare ability, not names. PW, F150 Tremor and now, ZR2 are the 3 non desert runners with the Raptor standing alone in that segment

I agree with you — It seems that everyone wants to compare the ZR2 to the Raptor, and I just don’t see it.

Had Ram offered some sort of front locker on the TRX, I would compare it to the Raptor but they chose to use the brakes so, thems the breaks.. That said, for desert running, a front locker isn't really necessary which goes back to my "use case" over labels statement.

I am in the same boat. Just sold my ‘17 Tundra as I’m waiting for my Tremor to be delivered. I’ve owned lots of Toyotas and not many Ford’s, so this is a big move for me.

I’m spending way too much time on YouTube right now, but I still feel good about my decision to order the Tremor.

I traded in my 2021 TRD off-road premium 4 Runner for my Tremor. I placed a deposit last May for the 22 Tundra. My intention was to get the Tundra. I test drove it back in January and while it drove fine ( definitely not as much pep as the Tremor ) and suspension was comfortable the interior center console, plastic cabin materials were very disappointing. The Tundra I drove had been on the lot for 3 days and already had scratches on the middle dash plastic by the shifter. I couldn't get comfortable the way the center console opens and the design is strange and awkward. Overall is was just ok, not very exciting. The biggest pro of the new Tundra over the Tremor to me is the full roll down back window. The Tremor in my opinion looks much better overall, the front grill and lights are a whole lot better looking imo, the interior is tremendously better and seats more comfortable. Having the front trail assist camera, trail assist turn, 2k generator are all options which weren't available on one I drove and don't believe they are available on the Pro.
Feel good about your decision!

I was super pumped for the new Tundra until it was revealed. It doesn't really fit my needs (I want an offroad truck for backpacking, camping, kayaking, light overlanding, home owner stuff, etc.) The front and rear bumpers on the new Tundra are poor design imop, especially for offroad use.

I have a Tremor on order but if the redesigned 4Runner is a home run i might go that route. It won't be though, probably will be a 4c turbo with same interior as the Tundra. The way over landers use 4Runners it really needs to be a v6 tubro to haul all of that gear, RTTs, etc.

Finally saw a new Tundra in person yesterday. While the grille is hideous, I have seen people wrap the bumper to color match the body and it helps, but the body lines on the sides of the truck were much more pronounced in person and I couldn't get past it. Felt like it was trying to look like a SWAT vehicle.

I am curious about how the Tundra hybrid in the Pro will compare to the Powerboost though.

I think the Tundra can look good if it's lifted. But I agree... not exactly easy on the eyes at first.

Don't know too much about the hybrid. But I was surprised that it will take up all the under seat storage in the back seat. I really use that area for stuff... not a deal breaker, but would have been nice to put it somewhere else.
