‘25 Tremor 5.0
Greetings from a new Tremor owner here, absolutely loving the truck just one little thing I’ve noticed is this high pitched whine the truck has. Didn’t have this in my last truck which was an 18’ 3.5L Ecoboost with the 10spd. Anyone know what it could be? Is this normal?

Upon doing a little more research seems like it’s the transmission whine that only some 10spds get… great I got unlucky lol. Doubt Ford will do anything about it.

Mine has a noise when slowly backing up. It sounds like something rubber, like a boot rubbing and making a whining/squeak. Don't notice it moving forward.

Believe it or not, the sound is normal.
Some but definitely not all 10 speed equipped Ford vehicles have the same whine.
If it gets louder, then you might have a transmission issue and yes, this has been the case with some owners.
Over time, you won’t even notice the sound.

I like the whine. I just pretend it's my imaginary supercharger on a 3.5 ecoboost.
Haha I don’t HATE the noise it’s really only noticeable when driving windows down and next to a wall for the sound to bounce off. Only noticed it because it’s a new truck and always notice the tiniest details of a new truck.

Are you talking about in reverse, or backing up?

At all times, 4wd, 2wd, backing up, going forward, flying, you name it. Noticeable at low rpm. Sounds like a little mini supercharger haha.
I got 2 f 150s , 24 Tremor and 20 FX4 they only make a winding noise in reverse. I just sold my 2018 FX4 and it didn’t make any noise at all. They all had the 10 speed Tran. In them. What does the dealer say?

Going in on the 10th for its first oil change, I’ll have them check out the noise and report back.

You know , Maybe I need to turn the Radio down to see if mine makes any noise, I can hear it in reverse. I
have 5600 miles on mine, I have changed the oil on mine at 1000 m at 2400 m and 5100 miles. But that's just me. All my trucks have had the 3.5 in them and I change oil evert 3000 miles , no matter what. My father was a Master Mechanic, and he told me , You can never change your oil to much !! When I got my truck it had 24 miles on it. I hope it's the last truck I have to buy. But well see. I use my truck for off road use. I drive about 7000 a year. I'm really curious what they tell you. Some dealers are really Good and some Suck !! I'm in Tampa ,Fla. we have some good Dealer's down here.

It's pretty common for a differential on a truck to whine a bit in reverse - it has to do with how the gears are cut. Some ring/pinion combinations are worse than others and set-up matters too.

Looking at the Corsa sport or Borla Type S. Anyone have experience with them?

Ghost,

I think the high-pitched whine is simply the sound of a V6. If you want real engine sounds, get a proper V8.

:ROFLMAO:j/k

🙄 Har har har... I know, it even amazes me how funny I am.

I have the Borla system and I’m very satisfied with it.
You can’t go wrong with either brand.

Got the V8 this time around in the 2025 lol. Whines more than the v6 did. It’s the trans.
