It’s been a long time since I posted, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up.

My 2025 Tremor 402A was stolen two weeks ago, right out of my driveway. My keys were inside the house — not sitting at the door — and it still didn’t matter.

This was 100% a professional job. They knew exactly what they were doing. They unlocked it and reprogrammed it right in the driveway. No smashed glass, no noise, nothing.

Once they got the truck, they pulled over somewhere and disconnected the modem. That was the last location I ever received through tracking.

After going through this, I’d strongly recommend investing in extra protection. I have bought a Faraday box for my keys and installing GPS trackers in the next truck. The factory tracking clearly isn’t enough if they know how to disable it.

Just a reminder to everyone-these trucks are targets, and the thieves are getting more sophisticated. Don’t assume that keeping your keys inside the house is enough protection anymore.

Damn man, that sucks.

Honestly, I don't worry too much about theft. That's literally what insurance is for. Besides that, I keep my vehicles in the garage as I don't hoard it out with bullshit I don't need.

Besides, there is an F-350 Super Duty Tremor by the entrance to the neighborhood and some other nice vehicles in the neighborhood I think people would grab first before they went after my truck even if I did leave it out.

Sorry this happened to you. Is car theft a big issue in your area?

Sorry to hear that.

Best way to avoid this in the future is to unlock your car from the outside with Intelligent Access and without using the unlock button on the fob. Things like the FlipperOne and the HackRF can listen for lock and unlock signals, record them and re-transmit them later (someone would have to be in the bushes sniffing, but I have "stolen" my own tremor before doing this and it's scary).

Without being in proximity of your key to steal the NFC tag, they don't have any way of getting the truck running; they can only get inside. My guess is they got in by stealing your unlock signal from your key (you got targeted), disconnected the battery, got it in neutral and towed it off.

I almost never use the Fob unless the wife beats me to the car. Always unlock it with your physical presence, that's why it exists.

@PNWTremor thanks .

They definitely drove it away. I have video of them unlocking it and then starting it 20 mins later .
I’m still shocked that I didn’t hear the 5.0L start up . 😴

That's a new one. I wonder how they got it running. They would have had to have identified you as the owner (at like a supermarket, somewhere public) then gotten close enough to capture your key's NFC tag. If your timeline is correct, 20 minutes between entry and ignition tells me they found another way to bypass all the security which is even scarier. Unless it took them 20 minutes to disconnect the modem etc.

Modern vehicles are incredibly hard to steal because of all the security.

I think it’s absolutely hilarious they chose to put the Dodge Challenger on the front page and in like 5 other pictures 🤣
I agree but, it’s definitely one of the most stolen vehicles including the Charger but only if either one is equipped with one of the Fiat V8’s.

Camdenn,

Do you have this on your truck?
No I do not but, I’ve been eyeing it for a couple of years.
Considering what I have on the inside of my TREMOR, I definitely should get one of these systems.

I just sent my local installer an email for a quote. Any idea how much the system runs approximately? Nothing on their website

I remember watching another video a couple of years ago from Canada where a guy had his F150 stolen in a similar way.

The video show the guy getting into the F150 with a laptop and after a few minutes, he started it and drove away. It definitely was part of an organized group because there were 2-3 other guys with him watching everything while he was in the car working. Also, there was another guy in a car close to the road leading out of the sub division.

I’ll try and find that video and link it on here.

I have no idea how much it cost but like you, I also filled out the quote request form on the website.

If I had to guess, I’m sure the top system is anywhere from $500-$1K

That what

That was I was thinking.

That’s pretty much what happened to mine . Two guys approached my truck , one stayed back at the street and the other did something to open it . Then they left and walked down to a car that was parked a street away. Two guys came back , one had a bag this time . They opened the truck , got in this time and did something for 20mins and then tail lights down the road .
The car followed them after that and that’s the last video I saw .
