21 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Overland Build on 37’s
I recently acquired a new 2024 F150 Tremor after having had a run of Platinums and King Ranches all on BDS 6" Suspsensions and 35's. I truly love the more aggressive factory look with the Modular Bumpers, Dual Exhaust, Hood Vents, etc. However, when I dove into the research for F150 Tremors on 6" suspension or 37's in general I was shocked to only find one 23 here on the forums. I called BDS directly and was promptly informed the 4" kit was all they offered.

Coming from a background of building and driving 1,200-1,500 HP Race Cars for the street and never leaving anything mechanical alone (trucks, jeeps, dirtbikes, motorcycles, cars), this was not the answer I was settling on. I dug deep into more research, and finally ordered the BDS 6" kit, which clearly states it won't work on the 24+ Tremors. Challenge accepted. I partnered with Hammer Performance, a local automotive performance shop that has done my last dozen rigs. Last week we decided to "full send" the Tremor Project with a couple pallets of parts on the ground and a "no fail" attitude. This is the result. Hopefully it answers questions for those seeking similar mods and builds. Happy to answer any questions based on our experience with this project. Zero rubbing even at full turn and articulation. Alignment was spot on as well. Driveline angles check to be inspect and plenty of clearance all around. No Trimming Required on this specific set up and backspacing/tire size.

VERY Sharp... well done. So, no modifications to the install other than the fact the manual said 'not for tremors'?

Correct. We downloaded the install instructions for both the 4" kit and the 6'' and compared part by part with their Engineering Team and decided all the brackets were the same part numbers (except for the spacers/blocks ) so it was a minor gamble as to whether or not Ford changed/updated control arms or offsets on anything. Fortunately we mocked everything up as we tore down the entire front suspension and all the bolt holes lined up. At that point we cut the tabs per instructions and started the irreversible procedure. All worked out and we verified clearances on the wheels/tire combo and sent it to alignment.

In my conversations with BDS they were super helpful but stated they simply didn't have access to a newer Tremor to verify so they specifically excluded it on the site and all marketing. I believe some of that is also the fact that the Tremor may not net the full gain from the suspension as it's already a couple inches taller from the factory. That being said would mean they're likely trying to mitigate any possible negative feedback from end users not understanding the premise.

All I have to say is this combo looks and drives like a dream. I wanted something that looks similar to the Super Duty's on 35's or 37's with Carli kits and it is exactly what the Dr ordered!

Overall height to the top of the GPS bumps (vinyl covers protruding from roof/cab) is 84" - Fortunately I built oversized garages with taller garage doors for my rigs. This thing has a road presence like no other Tremor though!

Here's a pic next to a Raptor for comparison. Not trying to put the Raptor down. Just illustrating the overall presence this Tremor has next to a Solid Offroad rig.

Firstly....I applaud you for doing it! You're one of the few Tremors with 37s that seems to work....looks pretty good. Preferences are personal (I'm more of an old school smaller wheel/more tire sidewall guy for 4WD trucks....17s would've looked perfect, IMO) but 6" of lift seems like a lot, almost looks like you could fit 39s under there. Do you think a 4" lift would've sufficed?

I'm slowly gathering parts for my '24 over the Winter (got my AMP XLs pretty quick!)....going with 35/12.50/17 Toyos with an Eibach kit to start, but plan on doing 37/12.50/17s KO2s later and I'm fairly certain they would fit with the Eibach lift and some judicious trimming/massaging.

Either way....well done!

*Also, where did you source the orange tow hooks? Or did you just powdercoat the stockers? (That's what I'm planning to do in the Spring...)

Looks good
I almost wonder with that much lift if a little more poke on the wheel/tire would make it look even better once you widen stance.

Thank you for your kind remarks. The 4” kit would suffice for 35’s but it’d be a tight fit for 37’s even with the offset I chose.

It was a bit sketch cutting up a brand new truck lol.
As for the smaller wheel/larger sidewall I was really leaning towards a set of 17’s as well. I ultimately decided to go the 20’s since I was running 37’s and utilize this as my daily and over the road rig. I wanted a bit “crisper” handling characteristics and hence cut the sidewall slightly. It also gives me the option with larger 20” wheels to upgrade to big brake kits later if desired.

The offset 18mm keeps the wheels/tires tucked significantly under the truck allowing more clearance from the Crash Bars. I didn’t want to have to modify them as some Ins Companies will look for those specific mods to find a way to screw you from claims. Even if you’re not at fault.

Additionally, they keep the tire tucked enough to help save on rock chips and all the trash the tires throw down the sides.

As for clearance, I utilize my trucks as we have Real Estate Developments, Farms, and I love to shoot/hunt/hike/camp. I wanted to have plenty of articulation without tearing up trim or modifying the bars as mentioned. Overall, couldn’t be happier with the outcome and quality of ride, which is significantly improved over the stock shocks/struts. Good luck on your build. Looking forward to seeing your build up soon.

Tow hooks are a Ford Factory Part number for Orange and run about $180-$200. I just searched the forums and found a few guys that had done it as well. One listed part numbers which helped. I’ll save you the searching:

Having done the more aggressive “poke” offsets (1mm) on my last 6 builds I wanted to run this set up for some additional clearance by tucking the wheels/tires in more like a factory profile. It allows more clearance for the crash bars and less likely to hit the front bumper/lower trim. This set up was literally spot on, not trimming and fits like a glove. I may add some spacer to see how much less room or clearance just for curiousity but will keep it as - is for long term and the usage needs.

Thx regardless for the kind words. This build was a dream come true and the road presence and overall look keeps me looking back for glances every time I park and walk away lol.

Got it! 🤘🏼

For comparison and the presence this set up provides, here’s a couple pics of the rig next to a stock Tremor. (I do have to admit, my first choice in color was AntiMatter Blue but they didn’t have any in stock at year end when I needed to purchase. The black is pretty awesome though!

Well keep us updated on how it holds up. What was the final Cost ?

Makes the stock look like a ranger lol
Crazy what a suspension and some tires can do. Truly amazing to drive. I'm looking forward to getting her out to the desert for some photos in it's natural habitat.

Pending on your source for parts the BDS kits with install are generally around $4k-$5k then add your choice of wheels/tire combo. Fortunately I still have all my wholesale accounts up from when I built/drove race cars. DM if you need more specifics.

Man those fenders aren’t eating those 37’s at all.

That fender gap would kill me but glad you got it done and are happy!

Definitely not. It's built for articulation and tons of clearance. I'm only 15 min from the high desert and love getting off-grid to camp, hunt, overland, and shoot some long distance. I have a Jeep Gladiator with Clayton's 3.5" Overland Plus kit on 37's and some of the desert trails are putting it to work so I needed to stay safe with the 37's. The longer wheelbase can get you into trouble too. This thing eats up the desert though! Thx

lol I Grew up in Victorville !
That's awesome. I spent almost a decade in Cali. Mostly so-cal. Truck scene out there is crazy. I also used to ride/race some pretty mean liter bikes. You still ride? I moved to adventure bikes and lighter dual sports though I miss the insanity the big bikes deliver.

This is filling my need for adventure for the moment. Once kids are out of college I may swing back into the street mix. I love the new tech and the Panigale is just a machine to drool over.

Yeah I used to race wera and still do tons of track days. Started in the dirt and converted to street and then race. Had kids and racing slowed down but still do lots of track days running top of A group.

Love those adventure bikes. Look like a blast for mammoth fishing/camping!

Have a good one!
