Wondering if anyone can comment on how the 5.0L Tremor drives and performs after a level and 35’s? Especially given the extra rotational mass of the tires. I’m looking at 35x12.5x17, or 315/70/17 tires which are approx. 30LBs heavier per corner over the stock grabbers.

Is it horrible? Does it struggle? How does it ride? Is it not that big of a deal? Any comments or experience is appreciated.

Also, if this has been discussed before specifically with the 5.0L just post the thread link. I could not find anything. Thanks!

You’ll feel it, that’s all I’ll say. It’s as big of a deal as you want it to be. It doesn’t have any issues getting up, but I also have 4.56 gears so that could be why.

lmao @ "does it struggle". go drive a 4runner on stock tires, guarantee it won't "struggle" as much as that (and people go up 2 tire sizes on those. It will be fine, it'll be slower but it isn't a racecar (and if it's that big a deal, add a whipple).

Shoulda got the 3.5L. You wouldn't even notice.:ROFLMAO:
Meh. Been there done that. Prefer the 5.0 to the 3.5 in every single way other than low end torque. If I wanted the 3.5 I would have gotten a raptor. Nothing against the 3.5 it’s a great engine. Different strokes for different folks!

Bahaha. Yeah idk. First 5.0 truck and first lifted truck. It feels fine to me now. But reading some things brought some concerns. Just double checking with the crowd. Like you said it’s a truck it’s not a race car. And… there’s always the whipple. thanks!

Had a 12th gen F-150 with the 6.2 and 3.73’s. I went to 35’s and it was honestly fine. The truck was never a speed machine originally but it really didn’t seem to take any toll on it. I did eventually put 4.56’s in but later regretted the gear change. It made it feel a lot faster but it ruined the driving and offroad experience for me overall. Eventually got a Whipple and at that point it was way too ridiculous but by then I was ready to get rid of it anyways and did. From my own experiences, the current 5.0 Tremor on its 33’s feels way better than the 6.2 felt even on stock tires. I have a Whipple now but I would still happily go NA with 35’s and no other changes. I’ve taken trips with engineer friends at Ford with some upfitted FX4 trucks built with lower ratios which I didn’t know it at the time but I think may have been when they were contemplating how to design the Tremor. In the end of those trips it seemed 4.10’s are the best middle ground if you were to do a gear change and are doing slow climbing style off-roading but still using the truck day to day. 4.30’s would probably be the max for general usability but are great for off road strength. After that it gets tough to be practical in either field, at least from those experiences. Long winded response lol but I have limited experience with Tremors on 35’s but don’t think at all the hit sacrificed much performance at all and pays back some capability.

You installed 4.56?
