Hey all, for those of you who swapped to 35’s. What has your gas milage gone to? Thanks. Looking at 35x12.5x18 bf ko2

I’m down at least 1mpg since level and 35’s
I was 16.3 all in first 1000 miles.

Last fill up (partial fill) was 14.9.

I’ll update more but I also let a few friends drive it an a quick loop and they let the truck go WOT so its not exactly accurate.

Also side note, I did let it remote start and idle long enough that it auto shot off on last fill.

Sorry not exact science but I think 1-1.5 mpg is gonna be pretty close.

Thanks. Well something to base it off anyways.

I have had 2-F-150’s and 1 Expedition. I have put 35’s on all three. Going form the stock 32’s, small lift/Level and E rated tires. I have lost a consistent 2 MPG on all three vehicles. I think the heavier tire has more to do with it than the diameter

I’m down roughly 2.5 mpg’s when I done my 2.5” level and 20’s on 35’s.

They do look sick on 35”. My struggle right now is I do lots of highway driving and need decent gas milage.

My Gen 2 Raptor has pretty much the same engine, 35's and 4.10 gearing. I get about 16 mpg on longer road trips in normal mode, 15 mpg during commutes in normal mode, 13 mpg in sport mode and 11 mpg towing (less than 5k lbs).

So highway isnt too bad considering.

Not too bad at all in my opinion. All about the same as my old Tacoma with the 4.0L V6 on 32's....haha. So from that perspective....very good!

Yeah from that, its great! Lol

I had a Gen1 Raptor with the 6.2. The best it would get was 12 on the road and towing my almost 7K boat was 3-5 MPG. And people freaked out when they put the EcoBoost in it. I think it made the truck better in every way but the sound.

Damn.....3-5 mpg....you'd have to stop at every gas station....lol. Agreed...I have zero interest in the Raptor R because I want the range, I'll take the EB all day long. I'm one of the few who don't really care about the sound, so no loss for me. It'll be really interesting to see where the hybrid technology goes over the next 10 years and they start working it into the off-road trucks. I wouldn't mind the low end torque from the electric motor while the turbos spool up and the improved gas mileage. I think the problem right now is the weight, size, and location of the battery otherwise you'd see if in the Tremor and Raptor already.

Wow! Yeah i like this motor too.

I finally replaced the stock Goodyear Wrangler tires on my XLT last fall to BFG K02, same size, and lost around 2.5 mpg. I had the smaller 2.7L engine and was averaging a little over 21mpg so the difference was negligible to me in favour of way better tires for snow/rain.

Wranglers are on the lighter side for sure. My D rated Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are lighter than the C rated KO2s in the same size. KO2s are heavy, but they do have thicker sidewalls. Wheel and tire weight definitely play a part in mpg.

Take everything you read here with a grain of salt. There are so many variables other than tire diameter that effect fuel economy. Tire weight, width, tread pattern, wheel weight, driving conditions, etc.

Foot on gas!

So I just swapped to 35x12.50 on Tues and snapped a pic of dash with the 900+ miles I had on the stock tires/wheels and was combined 16.5 MPG

I planned to post a thread after I had 900 miles on the 35s, but after 300 miles I’m at 14.9 MPG

Thanks and hope this helps
