Obv there’s a handful of folks that do some bonkers stuff with mirror light mounts, lower grill light bar mounts, wiring harnesses, and those glorious amber grill bars. What else is out there. Who’s doing cool shit. What do you have - 3d printers, scanners, laser engravers/cutters, plasma tables, those giant ass CNC machines, sw, etc? Whatcha working on?

well, you listed almost all of my current endeavors, so i'm just here to see what others are doing as well, haha

I've just got a lowly Ender 5+ and use Cura/Octoprint (more recent). Current rabbit hole is milwaukee packout shit and trying to figure out how to get my tool cutouts worked out without having to hand draw it in something like fusion. Might bite the bullet and pick up a X1 Carbon then rebuild the Ender. For now just random organizer crap.

as far as toys go, i have the following:
3D Printer: Bambu labs P1S w/AMS

Laser: Access to my mom's XTool S10 10 watt laser

Custom built desktop CNC machine that can mill aluminum no problem. just dont get around to using it much anymore. its too noisy to be useable while the kids are sleeping.

3D Scanner: Creality CR-Scan Raptor Blue light laser scanner

Would this be a 3D printed insert?
Yup. Playing around with layout and such. Once I get a decent test print off and make sure the dimensions will work I’ll prob clean it up and do a final. Prob split it cause my big printers being a typical older format printer and requires 14hrs of leveling out of nowhere

That will be sick!!

you should use kaizen foam instead of a hard printed insert. just put the driver on the foam and trace it. then cut it with a box knife.

sorry to burst your bubble. there's just much easy ways to do some things rather than use tech just to use it. haha although, if you really want to print something, make a stencil with the printer and use it to cut the foam. it'll take way less time to print than to print that full up shadowbox.

It's more to learn/fart around with Fusion than anything.

Might have to play around with @freewayman SVG 🤔

Those of you 3D printing, you should try out heat set inserts! You can sink brass threaded inserts into the plastic for solid threads. Pretty awesome!
