All,

Looking for suggestions on rear air bags for loading purposes.....

Anyone gone this route yet?

Thanks!

I'm interested as well. Found a 5000lb setup on stage3.com for 21 f150, but not sure about compatibility with Tremor. I'd like to add 2 or 2.5" level to front, but have ability to air up the back when towing so it doesn't sag.

I added a 2.5” leveling kit on my 21 tremor (high country).

Let me know if you find any air bags that work on the tremor.

I will let you know if I have found any that works.

Thanks,

I’m searching

Ill
Let you know if I get lucky.

My Dad installed bags from https://timbergroveenterprises.com/ on his 21 FX4, he has a 2” leveling kit on the front. He is very happy with the build quality and performance. They designed a kit for the 21 non Tremor. I plan to contact them when I get my Tremor as I am told they are very easy to work with.

Depending on how often and where you'll take your truck off road, you'll want a long travel type similar to the carli. Bellows reduce your rear travel substantially. It's something I'm considering if I find a good 3 inch suspension only lift. That is 3 in the front and 1 in the rear. I'm not keen on the current lifts that include frame mods or cross members that reduce actual clearance

@Yeti I would like a suspension similar to what you have described — I like your goal of 3” on the front and 1” on the rear, is this from the current stock suspension height? If it is, then what is the specifications of the suspension you are planning to use to achieve the desired height? Last question, have you calculated if the suspension will fit 35s without rubbing or limit the full range of travel?

I'm taking my camper on the first trip this weekend so will see how the truck does...

I think the ideal solution is an airbag system with the Daystar airbag cradles so that the bellows don't limit droop travel. But when towing the bags will still work like designed

My 21 tremor is taller in the rear than my 17 raptor. The dealer told me the tremor had a 2” rear block lift kit from the factory and I placed a high country 2.5 inch lift and it looks pretty level.

This suspension shop told me it was equivalent to a 3” lift after I was completed.

I do agree, I would not want to limit any travel of my suspension due to airbags.
I would like to try to keep them similar if possible.

If I find something that does not limit the travel, I will let you know.

Please do the same.

Thanks,

the issue with 35s is I don't have my truck yet to measure the radius, clearance, full compression clearance, etc. My biggest concern is how they wrapped the front bumper to a full 90 degrees. If you look at the previous years, it's a little more open in the wheel well @ 9 0'clock (drivers).

The cost of a 3 inch lift without frame extensions may be spendy until I can finalize the specific parts. My concern here is the drive shaft angle at full compression and droop. Everything else can be changed/moved reasonably easy/cheaply. Ideally, Ford understands (as they claim for the reason of making the Tremor) we're going to modify our trucks. If they planned that in the axles, knuckles, controll arms, and stearing angles, it'll literally be spring and shock length. Now to dash your hopes, I'm 90% sure Ford didn't spend that time.

Well, it's the equivalent to a 3" lift for a stock F150 but not for a Tremor. Unless things have changed, our suspension specific components are different than even an FX4. I'm chomping at the bit to get a look at the controll arms and knuckle to see what they changed and if they can be reused. At $3k, that would be a huge savings to not replace them.

Bringing this thread back up again (as opposed to starting another one). Air Lift makes kits for 2021+ F150 nonPowerBoost, 4x4's.

The above comments about limiting down travel are definitely a consideration. Would love to see or hear some experience with some of these kits regarding articulation.

I'm a fan of the air bag systems. It is so easy to dial in the preferred ride height regardless of payload or tongue weight. Not only is this for aesthetics, but also for handling and front end alignment (caster). No more worrying about "I want it to have a little rake so when I load it up with SOME stuff it's level...but if I go too heavy....or too light...it's not right."

I have a system from this company on the 4Runner and it's been awesome. Can have perfect ride height day to day, but load it up for a big family road trip and put a few PSI in the bags and you're back to where you want. Hook up to the off-road trailer and go full on backcountry load out, pump some more air in there. No squat and suspension dynamics are predictable while loaded.

I have it, 2" lift airbag spacers and the Daystar cradles. Just missing the truck.

I think I'm going to give Roadmaster a go. In the absolutely worst case, I add/remove the RAS when I swap my wheels.
