I just had a Sync update start that is supposed to improve the A/C vent airflow. Has anyone done this update and actually had it improve the A/C airflow? I would love it if it actually does what it promises.

I received this update yesterday, but it was in the low 30s today so no AC usage yet. The 10 day forecast shows some days in the high 70s, so I should be able to test it soon.

My updates have been few and far between lately. I've had two in the last week, but I went many many months without one.

I got the AC one months ago, won’t find out what it does for another good month or so still.

I’m wondering if anyone would feel or notice a difference after said airflow update.

I wonder if this helps fix the issue of the damper door allowing extra airflow from highway speeds. I’ve noticed this is a trend on my latest Fords. Though aside from that I do find sometimes on longer drives the climate control doesn’t seem to modulate air movement enough and I’ll eventually have to adjust temperature to get back to comfort.

I'm jealous of trucks that get updates :(
I'm jealous of 70s :ROFLMAO:

Doubt it but maaaaaybe some of the NV/AZ folks or some of us swamp people. Unless they're doing some weird shit like routing more through the crotch coolers or adding some process to help with the wet dog smell from the evap core

I’m hoping it helps, even just a little. My A/C barely kept up with summer temps in Colorado last summer, and the airflow through the drivers vent by the screen was almost non-existent most of the time. It’s gonna be warm enough next weekend for me to try it out.

Hey EG71. I'm in Falcon, so just east of you. I had the same experience with my A/C (powerful through the vents by the windows, not so much in the vents by the infotainment). Also, the rear vents were pretty weak - my kids would complain about being hot, so I'd try and angle the front vents to the backseats.

Back in my day there was no a/c in the back and dad smoked cigarettes with the the windows up!

Months and months for me. Sad. Even after FORCING the dealer to do a GWM update.

Last I got was BlueCruise... Even though I don't have BlueCruise.

I had been getting a phantom update icon for the last couple weeks but it seems to have stopped also

I had the phantom update for weeks too. It was really odd, and eventually went away.

One thing I've found is that, when I do have an update, it generally fails when it tries at 1am unless I have the truck on a trickle charger. When I get the update notice, I have to put the trickle charger on before bed. I've had to do this the last 2 years or so.

This is because he State of Charge is super super picky about allowing an update to go through, and the charge strategy on these trucks is absolutely trash.

Knock on wood but I recently left the battery disconnected at the negative and put it on a NOCO charger for about two weeks during vacation. When I hooked everything back up, before the first start, I did a BMS reset. I have gotten so many more updates now and haven't had it do any sleep yet. I usually have a week or longer between drives so it would usually happen before but now I've been good. My whole reason for doing that: I was trying to prolong the issue and had my truck hooked up to the NOCO without disconnecting anything and it still went into sleep mode. The BMS strategy is absolute garbage. I think what I did bypassed it seeing a charge increase so now it behaves with a higher voltage at the 80% SOC target. I'm not a spicy pixie wizard though so it could all just be luck. I'm going to upgrade to an H8 this summer anyways.

What year is your Tremor and would you happen to know which version of SYNC 4 you’re now on since you received said updates?

Wow.
My 2023 is still on version 4.0.23291 revision 1049 and it says that it’s up to date. I would agree with that if it was late 2023🤬.
I received my third ever update a couple of weeks ago for Power Up 6.4.0
Maybe I should try what you did.

It's definitely worth a shot at least

Yesterday I had a notification that I had an update that would install at my scheduled time at 1:00 a.m. The update installed successfully. When I reviewed the details of the update, it was the exact same AC airflow update that I had already received several days ago. Hmmm.
