Anyone explored replacement leaf springs?

Off topic, how do you like the Open Country AT III tires and what pressure do you run? Thanks
Can’t say enough good about them. I’ve had this tire on four vehicles now and they have performed exceptionally well in all conditions on and OffRoad. 40-42 psi seems to be the sweet spot for me.

I had the opportunity to compare toyo AT3 against cooper rugged trek both 35x12.50x20 F rated and 3 peak cert on my F350. The cooper tire is quite a bit more aggressive both looks and tread. Too my surprise the coopers had a substantially nicer on-road ride (not as stiff) and quieter than the toyos. Both good tires though.

I wouldn't say the same is true for the E rated. I have not had the Rugged Trek but I ran the ST Maxx for awhile.

My Halos are just fine over potholes.

A "heavier" spring rate will indeed stiffen ride, if you are just talking about a higher spring rate. Something like a Deaver spring has a more progressive rate than the stock spring by having thinner, but much number of leaves. So as the spring compresses, more springs are "engaged". (this is an oversimplification as all springs are technically bending since the springs are touching, with the exception of an overload spring, but you get the point).

This is one of the reasons I'm still hesitant about the RAS system, it's combining the stock springs with a progressive spring rate with the more linear coil spring. It's a bit of a Frankenstein setup, I'd rather just spend the money on a proper spring pack.
Got my halos installed yesterday. Already “tested” it (went to work down 4 miles of quarry road with hundreds of semis on it daily). Night and day difference. It feels more like a race car suspension on road and off-road it just smooths out the bump. No jarring anymore. Very impressed.

No buyer’s remorse.

Would be curious if bags and cradle would impact this near perfect ride.

I've reached out to Jeff and he stopped responding to me.

I've read the guys at hot shot offroad performed a swap with Icon leafs with the use of drop shackles, what do you guys think of that? I think for some of us planning overland type builds carrying decent weight, this could be a good inbetween. Since this is my first truck im still learning the in's and outs of leaf spring setups, I'm used to coil springs, but it seems like a good solution? Even better maybe we could just use generic deaver raptor leaf packs for the 22 models?

Sorry for the mild resurrection, but when you and @Yeti were considering Deavers, were their existing springs for gen2 raptors and late models f150 not usable for our Tremors? I am new to leaf srings but thought their L83-L84 may be options to consider as I start to consider suspension options again.

Hey guys, so updat on Deaver. I've been working with Scott and we are designing a leaf spring for the Tremors. I currently have a set on the truck but we're looking for more height. The ride so far is good. A little more stiff but not by much. Deaver is working to find us a solution. The HD 2nd Gen Raptor springs are what we put on first. They were ok but still needed help. This newer spring should give us lift and drivability. I'll keep everyone in the loop.

Ty, appreciate the update, glad they're recognizing the opportunity. Interested to know more what you mean by "still needed help." Re additional lift and HD, would their intent be to have versions similar to gen2 raptor, depending on use case and goals. I wouldn't necessarily want more lift than stock and currently don't tow or haul enough to need HD. Maybe in that case the L83 gen2 standard version would fit fine for some?

Did you guys have a target weight over stock you are trying to hit? 400-600lbs would be perfect

Yes, additional lift is what we're working on currently with a load over 500lbs. You're correct. A gen2 Standard is prob all you need if you don't add weight or tow with it. The gen2 Raptor Springs (they already have) are identical to our setup.

We have 3 Tremors.
One weighted down heavy with a 4 inch lift
Two is a 2.5 lift with RTT
Three is a daily driver that hauls from time to time

Goal is to find and or make new springs that fit all those conditions. So we have options.

Yes we're right in there prob pushing more to 600lbs than 400lbs.

Excellent, look fw to your results. We have front lifted via puck for now but not rear, and eventually would like a rack and RTT. Figured the deavers and add RAS when we get there seems the right option for us with re to flexibility.

For sure, although we're doing our best to 86 the RAS system. In my experience the RAS is incapable of true wheeling. If you do light forest roads no issues however once again taking my truck on harder trails the RAS hits the bump stop puck, chipping the metal and has even taken a 1/2 inch gash out of my frame. This is all do to articulation. So the goal is to remove the RAS and still have a soft enough spring for driving yet strong enough to lift truck and help with off-road.

Presumably @Tremor Trails is looking for additional height related to his rig with 4" lift so unless you're also wanting the rear much higher than stock, it sounds as if their existing gen2 raptor leaves work with our Tremors. The HD are designed for +500 so L83HD or L84HD may already fit your needs?

Yeah I was primarily targeting the 2nd use case @Tremor Trails mentioned - 2.5" lift with a heavy RTT. I wouldnt mind an inch or two of rake to have additional headroom to haul 100-200 lbs more in the bed without much sag. After looking up the L84HD it seems like this fit the ticket, so I'm wondering what the difference is between the raptor packs vs these tremor pack they designing?
