Hi everyone, new here and about a day away from hopefully buying a 23 Tremor in either Avalanche or Azul (leaning more towards Avalanche color). I currently drive a 2020 King Ranch and have loved this vehicle but my lease is up soon. Have positive equity and a $4k rebate that I need to use soon. Was planning on replacing it with another King Ranch but given the skyrocketed price of trucks I don’t feel like paying $83k. Dealer has a few 2023 Tremors that have caught my eye. His comment was “well it won’t be as nice as your King Ranch but it’s still nice” but also “it won’t ride as smooth as your King Ranch”. Obviously I know I’m losing a few things like massaging seats, power running boards and the brown leather seats but I can’t seem to find anything else that I would be “missing out on”. Anyone go from a King Ranch (or I guess you could throw in Platinum) to a Tremor and be disappointed?

The trim of the tremor you’re interested in would matter in terms of getting leather seats, size of the infotainment screen, type of LED headlights (reflector vs. projector).

What are your “can’t live without” features on your KR?

Great point, I should have clarified, the ones I’m looking at are fully loaded (402a, twin panel roof, BO Unleashed, pro power, interior work surface, torsen, bed package etc)

The quality of the leather is probably better in the KR. I don't really care for the color of it though. I like the look of the Tremor much more.

Went from a Platinum to Tremor 402a and have no regrets, rides great, all the bells and whistles I care about. I never used the massaging seats (my 13yo loved them though) and I honestly like the Tremors running board better than the retractable.

I moved from a 2018 load KR to a 2022 402A Tremor you lose some comfort but not that much. no regrets here.

Can you locate a new 22? Several have not yet shipped from Ford.
The dealership actually has a 2022 Tremor marked down significantly but I don’t like how it has the analog gauges opposed to the full digital screen.

I have always gone Platinum, not a big fan of the cowboy theme. A 402a is like a fully loaded Lariat. You give up the Multi contour seats, power steps, badging, multi color ambient lighting (this may be gone completely). Decent leather, Lariat and Tremor leather sucks but the interior is the best looking IMO. I never used the back rub much and it actually makes the seats more uncomfortable for normal driving. I added the power steps, but my truck is huge. The only thing I really miss is the better leather. And on a side note my Platinum Expy's leather is way better than the Platinum truck's. Not sure why. But other than that I don't miss a thing. Well, I miss the cupholder lights, but I just got everything I need to fix that. Just remember that's the 402a I am comparing it to.

The one thing I keep thinking is since my 2020 was before the interior change in 2021, a lot of the great things is almost everything will be different.

I've always told everyone who asks it's basically like a platinum and raptor had a baby.

I've driven in a King Ranch, 19 I think and it doesn't feel any better or more comfortable than my 22 402a.

Honestly I was very surprised how smooth my tremor is, and even the grabber tires are not loud at all.

I've never experienced massaging seats, but the retracting running boards are trash. IMO.

My sister in law has them on her platinum expedition and they are currently broken and stuck in the down position from a little bit of mud.

If you want a road queen, the platinum is your truck, if you live in the desert get a raptor, for the top trim besides those two situations, it's the Tremor.

Pretty much agree with this. A loaded 402A isn't much different than top of the line Lariat or a King Ranch or a Platinum. I havent tried the massaging seats in the 21+ truck but had it on my previous gen Platinum and only used them a handful of times. Not a big deal to give up.
If you must have retractable running boards then just get the AMP boards. I never had a problem out of my factory retractables on my Platinum though.

I see it coming down to this - if you were going to put a small lift and 33's on a Platinum or KR or Lariat then there is no reason not to get a Tremor. Plus you get the unique styling. No brainer to me.

Also... TWICE PIPES!
