I'm a home inspector and have the decked drawer system and ladders on top. This leave zero room for family luggage for trips, or taking my ARB fridge along without pulling the drawer system.

I'm thinking about a Leer or ARE cap- I read both good and bad on both. Also lost on the dozen models each offers.

I have the Decked system as well and am running a Leer topper. Love it and the top gives me some bed space back. I don’t think you can go wrong here, and there are a lot of different tops pictured in the forum. You could also go with the Smart Cap, but they only come in black and they are pricey.

What model leer did you go with? They have so many.

Leer 100. I've had a cap on my last 4 trucks. Once you have a cap, you'll never have a truck without one. I built a tool box for my every day gear to keep the majority of the bed full height and to allow longer items to be layed on the bed.

5th truck and the 4th with a shell. I’d never be without one if I can help it. This one is a Leer 100XQ.

I had a decked with a are cap on.my 15. And a 66 literally fridge that I put on a drop down slide. That was before rsi and smart caps were being sold in the US. I would stay away from the fiberglass unless you find a used one cheap . The build quality is no comparison between aluminum and fiberglass.

Update- I did find a used Leer 100XR capper. It was low on options but at least has a keyless lock. The color match isn't great, but it lets me do my work and travel easily. I think I'm stuck having caps from now on. My family calls me "old" now, which is quite true.
I did splurge on a half slide to get my various cases and stuff out without crawling in. The right side is a 5" folding ladder, traction boards, and other stuff that can be pulled out from the tailgate.

When I put a cap on my 15. My daughter started calling it The Old Man truck! LOL

Same! But I was the one that was giddy when it was time to put the family's suitcases in the back for a trip and I only had to drop the ladders and not take apart the whole decked drawer system and remove it.
