Article on Blue Cruise

I opted not to get it. I didn't really get the point. If I have to keep paying attention to the road 100%, I would just as soon drive without any assistance. Maybe just not for me though, I never even use cruise control now. Plus my current truck is a stick so even going to an automatic feels weird/disconnected from the driving experience, which I enjoy.

Cool feature I guess, but seems like a gimmick. Maybe I'm just not the target market.

"In simple terms, think of this as a hands-free version of adaptive cruise control with lane centering."

I can think of better ways to spend $2,000

I don't have the blue cruise either, which I bought a dealer stock truck so didn't have the option, but I will say the cruise that I do have works fantastic, the truck will literally drive itself 97% of the time. The other 3% it like to try and take turn lanes on the occasion.

Do you have the Assist 2.0 then

Personally I love the blue cruise. I drive in some horrendous Miami traffic every day and it makes it way less stressful/taxing. It requires you to be attentive, but not on it constantly. It's also great on long drives. Well worth the money in my opinion, at least for a city driver. If I lived in the mountains or somewhere more rural, I could see it being far less appealing, but not an expensive add imo considering what the truck already costs.

"BlueCruise does not make your vehicle fully autonomous. When engaged, you cannot take a nap"
Challenge Accepted on the nap. I've tackled more challenging naps than this.

I do have Blue Cruise and I have to say, I agree with the article above - It's great and this is just the first iteration. We went to Louisville recently to see a concert. About 3 hour drive and I had control for about 45 minutes. Pretty much the entire interstate travel time was Blue Cruise. Next to Semi's, over potholes, it didn't matter and I felt confident the entire time. Don't like the 80MPh restriction though. When the auto-passing feature is ready it will be even better

I think it is optional with the rest of them but the cost is still negligible. I honestly didn't think I would like it, because freightliner had a similar thing available for a while and their version absolutely sucked, if you went around a sharp curve it would pick up the guardrail and slam the brakes sounding the pre collision alarms. This so far has been great with the exception that occasionally it will try to go down a turn lane, and sometimes will slam on the brakes if someone turns off in front of you but is slow getting out of the lane.

Man I didn't even know what BlueCruise was when I ordered my 402A before coming here, but now I'm excited. I'm almost all highway driving and at least half of it is done when there is no traffic.

I've found bluecruise helpful on the straight highway sections but makes me nervous on overpasses that turn. Wanders all over the place when the lines get dull. First time over a certain overpass that has an exit in the middle it freaked and sent the truck halfway into the passing lane while beeping that I wasn't in my lane. I now always put my hand on the wheel during overpasses/exits.

When passing semi's it favors the center lane too much and I feel a bit uneasy getting that close. Overall glad I have it, but only use it on straights, mild corners. Mountain passes...forget it.
