Has anyone had to replace one of the cable clips on their MX4 Tonneau cover? One of mine had the cable slip loose of the loop crimp and I'm trying to see if I can easily just replace that part or if I need to figure out a way to fix it. Thinking JB Weld or something like that because the loop is too tight to reinstall in the clip as it is. I looked on the Backflip website for replacement parts and didn't see anything for the actual clip assemblies. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I had to return 2 back to back for that same reason, Went with the new X4S and love it.

Whoa. I have one of these in my shopping cart. Do you recommend buying this cover?

Have the same cover and haven't seen this issue yet... and hopefully don't. However if I do, it's a relatively easy fix. Find a wire rope crimping tool on Amazon or at Home Depot and simply re-crimp. A better quality tool will allow a higher compression and stronger connection. I would do this instead of any sort of JB weld or other adhesive.

If it is under the warranty period (or even a little out of it) reach out Bakflip. They have awesome customer service and will get you fixed up.

I do recommend. It is a good cover other than this one issue.

I would love to do a recrimp but it isn't that easy. The end of the cable that came loose is short enough that to thread it through the clip assembly and then back into the crimp piece is VERY tight. It was obviously done by machine as doing it by hand is fairly problematic. It actually looks like it may not have been crimped at all to be honest. like that piece got missed in the process.

I do have a message into Bakflip support. Waiting on a response.

I think there was a batch of them that had the same problem. as posted before 2 in a row. Luckily I got from Amazon so they exchanged for the X4S and overnighted it to me and glad they did. Much better cover and completely dry (a little around the tail gate). The security track is much better down the whole side to keep anyone from prying up the cover with out some struggle. All my landscape trucks have them now along with the bed rug mats and tailgate mats on tail gate and bulkheads, Easy on the Knees. Auto tail gate opens and closes like butter

A couple options for tight spacing. 1) shorten cable and use a shackle to connect it or 2) use a manual nico-press tool that works in a shallower space; we use them often for rigging on boats.
Sometimes the machines doing mass produced crimps don't catch if the cable is fully threaded and just crimp. My guess is BAK sends a new assembly.
