Base Tremor

Hey,
Have a local dealer here in ON Canada with a base model Tremor... no leather, standard screen..etc
Does anyone on the forum have this model ? Its considerably less than the loaded model.
Pros / Cons ?

It was raining heavily when I test drove and lost traction easily, I flipped it to slippery mode and it seemed to really help. Not 4 auto but helped .

I have the 400a. Lot of truck for a lot less money. If you don’t care about all the techy shit then it’s a great deal. I love mine. I hate the halogen lights, that’s my only issue but I upgraded with diode dynamics so it’s probably better now than OEM.

I agree wish it had LED. Was the upgrade pricey?

Does it have the Torsen front diff? The Torsen and Hi-Lock are the off roaders main reason to get the Tremor. If not you could get a more opted out truck by dumping the Tremor all together. $60K+ for a base tremor a lariat high would be $64+K and you would have leather, LED lights, big screen. This is just Ford USA website prices when I was looking for one. Canada will be different. Unless the truck is on the lot discounted and you can't wait. Something to think about if you really don't need the Tremor goodies.

It doesn't have Torsen diff just locking rear. Remember that price is CAD. Also getting employee discount so it’s around 58k CAD or 49k USD.

$650 for the Fog pods which are awesome. The new elite series lights will be $1500-2000k. I paid $50k US for the truck. I’ve been super happy with it.

They’re pricey too but you need to have the harness. The aftermarket ones are plug and play and come with the harnesses.

Honestly I would love to have bought the base tremor, save approximately $20k and just get an upgraded Torsen and Hi-lock transfer case later on. The Torsen should be $800? The Hi-lock $2000? But I’m don’t know any good honest workshop around me that I would trust that would not try to rip me off with the installation. That would be the perfect truck to beat up for its purpose and just don’t give a damn about scratching it up. You also get a higher payload with the base for overlanding.

Cheapest 400a I've seen is a 57k with tosen, 360 copilot and bed liner. Best deal was a 2021 to nobodies surprise. I think the 5-6k difference is worth the 401a difference.
Electric seats
Bigger screen
LED lights
Bigger tank
And arguably nicer center console and shifter

Ya I really wanted the 401 package but wasn’t available as 2022 in my area with all the incentives. Wasn’t looking to build out a 23. Price was right so I will plan some small upgrades in the coming months. Thanks

Agreed. Without those two options its mainly an appearance package.
