Bed cover with MTN bikes

While waiting on my truck to be built, I’m researching bed covers. I want either a rolling hard cover or a retractable one. Wondering if anyone has a retractable cover and can still fit a modern geometry mountain bike (27.5 or 29er) in the bed with the tailgate up?

You will be able to fit it diagonally probably, but not straight. I just got a tailgate mat and use that, works great with my electric retrax.

That’s what I’ve been doing with my Tacoma with no cover but was hoping the extra 6” would be enough. Tailgate pad it is then.

That’s how my Sensus Bachelor Pad was supposed to be, but the seats haven’t been released yet. Damnit! My pad lives on the truck all season, then when the white stuff starts to fall it goes in the garage and the tonneau gets unrolled. I’m seriously looking at a softopper now though. I believe I can run the topper and pad at the same time and then have a place to sleep at races.
