Hey guys, new to the forum here. I got my Tremor about 3 weeks ago and haven't done a whole lot yet. I am looking for some opinions on different bed covers? I am in the market for one.

Start reading through this, these are considered the better options so far from what I've seen.

just installed bak revolver x4s, seems like a high quality cover with a good warranty. Does not block rear window when rolled and auto tailgate works well with it.

I went with a Retrax Pro MX and I like it a lot. This is my 2nd Retrax bed cover, 1st one worked flawlessly for 8 years before I traded for my new Tremor. My 1st Retrax was the vinyl slat model. I opted for the aluminum slat model this time for a bit more ruggedness, although the vinyl slat model served me well for 8 years.

Personally I’m leaning towards Retrax Pro MX or Diamondback. Both allow you to put racks on top of them for kayaks/bikes/etc.

Theft prevention is important to my decision, I love these open overland builds but I feel all my shit would get stolen.

Can the Retrax have stuff mounted on top of it? I was thinking of going diamondback because I haul a lot of big shit and they allow me to do so on top of it. If the Retrax can as well, that may make a big difference.

The aluminum one holds more weight, my retrax power XR holds 500 lbs sitting on top of it. It also has the slots for rails so you can put crossbars and mount whatever on top of those.

Well worth it, best cover I've had so far.

Have you had the diamondback by chance to compare to? That make it a lot more intriguing. The only caveat to that is I couldn't load my ATV's on top unfortunately, but I could always find another way to haul em if needed.

Check out mountain top evo. I’m going with that one or the retrax xr. I believe these have the slots in the rails . Personally do not like the looks of the roll up style behind window. Roll up style also needs higher crossbars for clearance.

Does there exist a retractable cover that can hold ATV's on top? I've only seen ratings of around 500 lbs on that type.

Diamondback has one that even comes with the ramps.

I think if you want to put an ATV on top of the cover diamond back HD is the only thing strong enough/designed for that. If you go with anything else you probably need to pull them in a trailer.

The main downside of the diamondback to me is if you need to haul large stuff in your bed you need to remove the panels. It can be done but not as easy/convenient as a retrax which only takes seconds to retract the cover.

From my understanding that particular one is not confirmed to work with '21+ model years per the manufacturer.

Yeah, I agree, which is why I was asking if there was one I wasn't aware of. It seems not though. It's annoying because I use my bed a lot, but also want to haul the ATV on top of a cover as it suits my and my families needs better than having a trailer with us where we tend to go.

I feel like if you put the cross arms on top of the aluminum retrax and put some plywood on top, it would hold it. Might be some redneck engineering though idk.

That's a good idea though regardless, I'm sure there is some way to make something like that work or have something fabricated.
It's just the fact that hauling the trailer around sometimes isn't the best or even possible, otherwise I wouldn't care.

Could also use sheet metal of some sort.

Yeah for sure. I'm wondering if there wouldn't be a way to pabricate something that would be like a deck either on the rails or cover itself some way but distributed to the bed....if that makes sense 🤔

The other option similar to Diamond back is the Renegade... https://renegadecovers.com/?v=7516fd43adaa Same issues as Diamondback regarding cargo, but holds 2000lbs.
Yeah, I saw these during my searching but as you said, same issue. I wondered if they were any easier to get off than the diamondback. I assume not though.

I also don't have any experience with them, but I do diamondback and trust them.
