Funny because the full stainless set for my Traxxas sledge was also pricey lol. Like $75, and that's an RC carIt started with one corroded shock pivot bolt and now here’s what $300 in titanium Mountan bike hardware looks like. Not sure if I’d get more or less for my money if it was for the Truck!

That’s how it grew into a full swap! I can’t just have one oilslick bolt, they all have to match!Worth it for the oilslick color alone
Amen back when I rode and raced a lot I probably spent just as much in a few years as what the truck cost, I've been through about 25 front forks alone.I did quite a few oil slick bolts on my transition spur, headset, rotor bolts, brake mounts, valve stems, and cockpit hardware. Mtn biking is just another money pit![]()
You got me beat bro, but I've settled on a transition patrol for park, and the spur for my everyday beater. It's like cars and trucks, can't stop. I used to race in the early 2000s/2011. A career put a spike in that but still love to ride. Especially since I can go from my garage.Amen back when I rode and raced a lot I probably spent just as much in a few years as what the truck cost, I've been through about 25 front forks alone.
I’m in the all the bikes brakes and groupo must match so they all feel the same when I ride stage right now. Fuuuuu*k! But on the bright side, all my brakes feel the same!I remember those days, except mine went more along the lines that I had a rear derailleur snap off on a stump and the shop nearby only had Xtr components in stock, so bought the rear derailleur for twice what the xt cost, once I had it on I just couldn't deal with only one component so wound up with a full Xtr set in the end, worth almost what the bike was new. Damn those rabbit holes, once we go down then there is no way to turn around.
That is one thing about the disk brakes, when I started it was not available, so you picked a pad compound that worked best with your V Brakes or linier brakes and that's what you used, if I remember I ran the WTB dual compound black and red on all my bikes. Then the disk brakes caught on and drastically improved so my Santa Cruz Blur the original Blur when it had 4 inches of travel before the broke it into 3 different categories has the Shimano XT hydraulic disk brakes on it. After that I converted my other 2 bikes to the same brakes for the very reason you mentioned.I’m in the all the bikes brakes and groupo must match so they all feel the same when I ride stage right now. I still have 2 sets of these except they are the originals. Best tire for the conditions I rode most often ever. Before that the best tire were the red compound Michelin tires.I did the exact same thing back in the day. XTR was the king, top of the pile, nothing better. XTR rear then front and so on and so on. Now you can buy an oversized ceramic derailleur cage for the same price as the entire XTR drive train cost back in the day. I don't know what the good stuff is anymore. My current bike is all SRAM, but the breaks and their Shimano. To old and slow to care anymore. But back in the day it was so much fun. Everyone know who Eli Tomac is. No one remembers how bad ass his dad was. I always wanted the purple bike with the lightning on it.
