I am looking at getting a 2023 F150 Tremor, and I really like the concept of Blue Cruise.

Am I able to have the dealership retrofit it? Does anyone know what the cost is?

I've looked at a lot of Tremors listed for sale and don't see one with Blue Cruise, or I would just buy a new one with it. If anyone has seen one (at a fair price), a link would be appreciated.

I think the hardware is there if you can find one with co-pilot 2.0. You would then need to buy the software to use it.

I don’t think any of the ‘23s have it. The ‘22s do though and some dealerships have new ‘22s. My local dealership just got a new ‘22 in. Makes me kinda wish I had waited so I could have the blue cruise and heated steering wheel.

I feel like there has to be hardware missing, otherwise why would Ford not have included it with the 23's? Seems like everything they are taking out is because of a hardware/chip issue.

after trial timeline is up Blue Cruise is going to be a subscription service.

There are infrared cameras in the truck, above the stereo, in the driver a pillar and I think in the rearview mirror?

Yeah I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere there is one to make sure you keep your eyes on the road so I'm sure there are a few which I'm guessing aren't installed in the 23's/models without blue cruise

And right in the center dash… pro tip, don’t mount your phone near there like me, or blue cruise will constantly tell you to watch the road.

TBH I have it and have yet to use it but I do work form home so there's that. Will check it out in a month or so on a short road trip.

I'm not sure how much I'd use it either, but it's just frustrating that Ford is taking things away. That being said, I just went on ford.com and built a Tremor and it looks like you can now include Blue Cruise and heated steering wheel. When I was looking several weeks ago, you could not. However, that might end up being a prolonged wait period for a build, I don't know. Seems like I picked a frustrating timeline to go get a new truck haha. But maybe that will mean parts will be in to retrofit certain things? Who knows.

I don’t have bluecruise but if you have adaptive cruise control it does 90% the same thing. On straight freeway sections adaptive cruise control is amazing. I don’t trust it on windy mountain roads, but for long road trips I’m honestly not sure bluecruise would be that much better.

The build shows removal for heated wheel and 2.0

I don’t know. I see this. But I agree about blue cruise. I’m not sure I could really sit behind a wheel and keep my hands completely off of it for an extended period of time. My frustration just lies with Ford deleting options. And this is about the 30th time I’ve complained about this on this site, but no heated steering wheel is actually a joke haha. But hey, I knew that when I bought it so.

I actually like driving and using my hands to steer. No FSD for my Tesla and no Blue Cruise for my Tremor. Love both of these without..

I have the adaptive cruise and as long as the lines are good on the road it will stay between them, I used it through the mountains of Western NC with no problems, only thing I will warn you is it will try to follow turn lanes so you have to hold the wheel anytime you come up to an exit or turn lane. The difference is you can take hands off the wheel with blue cruise but with adaptive you get the warning every 8 seconds if it doesn't feel pressure, easy remedy for long straight highway stretches is to us a 1 lb ankle weight.

I havent tried the weight trick yet, but i feel quite nervous trusting the adaptive cruse while driving through the mountain passes in southern Oregon (steep grade filled with Semi Trucks speeding downhill or trying to pass each other uphill) . It's just less stressful for me to drive myself in those sections of the road.

Thing about the blue cruise is yes you have your hands free... but what do you do with your hands on a road trip if they aren't on the steering wheel? and no i'm not going to clap and sing like in the commercials. :ROFLMAO:

From other forums, adding Blue Cruise hardware is quite expensive and I have yet to see someone feel that it is worth the cost, especially because there is a question of whether or not you could actually activate it on a truck that Ford will tell you doesnt have it (subscription based services throw an additional wrench in adding these types features in yourself). Adding the heated steering wheel though is a different animal and can be done fairly easily and for relatively minimal cost (going to get around to doing this myself sometime this month).

Yeah I find myself upset that BlueCruise was (I guess?) deleted from the 23's, mostly because it sucks seeing deletes, but at the same time the adaptive steering or whatever it is called is pretty much it except it yells at you to put your hands back on the wheel. But honestly, it's just not natural for me to not have my hand(s) on the wheel. Obviously a cool feature and I believe it won't be long before this technology becomes standard, but right now I don't know how much I'd want to use it and also there is a subscription for it I think? $600/3 years I believe I read.

I would love to hear more about your HSW retrofit though. What is your understanding on what all we need? I was reading on other forums where some other '23 models have the heat element in the wheel and some of them don't. But I haven't seen anywhere that someone has opened up a '23 Tremor steering wheel to see about ours. To be clear, I have the 402a package and my sticker says "Steering Wheel — Heat Removal".

I have been following this thread for the steering wheel:
https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/heated-steering-wheel-retrofit.6022/page-52#post-324580

Mine is also a '23 402a with the note about the removal on the window sticker, and obviously no button on the HVAC. From what others have reported I expect the wiring to already be there, but havent dug into it yet. I did purchase a new SCCM and wiring harness from Boosted Grey Goose Designs, but am expecting to not need the wiring harness. I also have a Raptor steering wheel to install at the same time as I like having the paddle shifter.

Yes I have been following that thread as well but so many different trucks need so many different parts haha. Definitely post your progress/results on this forum as I would be very interested. I don't have plans to replace the steering wheel (if I don't have to) so I don't know if there'd be a way for you to determine what all the tremor steering wheel would need but it would be greatly appreciated to have some more insight for sure. My thing will be finding someone to do it. I do not trust myself at all to crack open this $75K interior. I'm not sure if Ford dealerships are doing these or not. You would think, especially if the wiring is there and just needs a new SCCM and HVAC, parts that can be ordered through Ford, they would, but I have a feeling they aren't or I'm sure they'd be telling us buyers "Hey it's missing the HSW, but come to us and we'll put it in for you!". Yes I know expensive labor, but at least I wouldn't mess anything up.

Are you replacing the HVAC or going to try the Super Duty soft button hack through Forscan? And I think there might be other things we would have to change on Forscan as well, regardless of what is and isn't readily available? This is all so dumb to be having to do this on such an expensive truck in 2023. Sigh.
