Building a Tremor yourself

The 400A would be a very tough sell for me. The main things the Tremor offers to me over the FX4 are the Torsen and the HiLock Transfer case (402A only). Per that article the 400A being $2800 more than an XL, means you are paying that premium for a lot of parts that I personally plan to replace right away(Tires, Suspension, Bash Plate).

But I guess that's why it the 402A seems to be the most popular package by far. Seems very worthwhile over the Lariat which is the package I would chose if the Tremor didn't exist.

I can't read this, already own a tremor, only potential suffering awaits me.

Don't worry the article is wrong and his numbers are irrelevant as a result.

Tremor Standard is similar to an XLT, while Mid best compares to Lariat, and High is similar in standard content to Platinum. It's a bit difficult to discern cost for the F-150 Tremor package content, however we can say that the Standard Tremor is about $2,800 more expensive than a comparable XLT

Much closer comparisons would be to high package XL, XLT, and Lariat (gauge clusters, headlights, side mirror skullcaps, power tailgate availability all line up). I was planning on an XLT 302a which is why I went with the 401a.

And the funniest part of it to me is the off-road specific features are the weakest features of our trim (seriously why the fuck does the Ranger get Fox shocks and we get butter churns?) while the article completely ignores other aspects of it like the 9.75" locking 3.73 + 3.5l ecoboost combo and the pre-wired aux switches.

Base price is in the ballpark of an xlt, but I agree the 402 is closer to a high lariat than platinum. The trail control and other programs you can't get along with the upfitter switches, but if you disregard those and you build any of the platforms to match everything else it will still cost more than the Tremor already equipped with them, so in that fact it's accurate.

Yeah I was just speaking in terms of feature parity. I had personally no idea what those trims/packages cost lol
