For those of you who have had the CarPlay TSB done, did it address your disconnecting issues? My CarPlay has been flawless for 2 years, but in the past month it has started disconnecting, but always in the same spots close to major power lines. Since it is always in these same spots that seems like an outside interference issue, I am wondering if the TSB will do anything

I think this is a frequency issue in the SYNC system within F150’s.

That was my thought as well since I only drop in specific spots, but every time at those spots. If the TSB fix isn’t going to make a difference I dont want to leave my truck at the dealership for a day

To be honest, I really don’t think a TSB update will fix this issue. I’ve had this same issue going back to my 2016 Lariat which was the first year SYNC was installed into the F150.

Before it was totaled a couple of months ago, my 2016 Lariat, 2023 XLT which was also recently totaled, yes, it’s been a rough year, and my 2023 TREMOR, all would cut out Apple CarPlay in the exact same spot in a mall parking lot and then reconnect after I pass that spot usually about 50-100 feet.

I guess I’m just used to it now so it doesn’t bother me.

I am not convinced this TSB will fix my issues either, but I drop carplay multiple times a day now in places where it didnt before, so I think I am going to bite the bullet and schedule my truck to go into the dealership and see. It cant make it any worse, right?...

I have an apt for Wed. to drop the truck off, so I guess I will eventually get to answer my own question. Service advisor said that they have seen good success with the TSB addressing the CarPlay drop issue, but it will take 1-2 full days of updating, depending on how many modules need to be updated. Also said that this TSB is only covered if still under the 3/36 warranty (or possibly an extended warranty), so since I am at 30k he suggested getting it done sooner rather than later.

I’m not really having issues on my Tremor, though it’s not a daily driver, but am tempted to just have them take it and perform the TSB anyways while they’re offering.

Good luck with yours, fingers crossed everything gets fixed.

There's a few intersections that absolutely, repeatably disconnect my Android auto. 100 percent external interference....

Now... If they could change the algo to cope better with temporary interference that would be nice....or try to auto reconnect better...

Not saying it’s your issue but I had the same issue. Initially no problems ever, then it would drop regularly in about the same location driving. I tried the typical apple fixes then the phone off and on sometimes it helped but issue returned. Ford dealer did a hard reset on the radio, helped but then returned. I got a new iphone and hasn’t dropped since. I had a 12 pro max and went to the 16 pro max as soon as they were released. I’m convinced Apple creates connection issues to sell more phones. But it could just be me.

Your theory doesn’t work for me because I also have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and yes, CarPlay via Bluetooth disconnects in the exact same place / location when I’m driving.

I should get out my spectrum analyzer and go drive to a spot where I always disconnect.... But it would be a waste of time because I 100 percent know it's just environmental interference

All I was saying is the new phone fixed my issue. Nothing else was done to the truck. So in my case the phone was the issue. But I’m a mechanic and drop my phone a lot so something g could have been damaged in the phone. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My phone is an Apple 15. I did a test last night and drove my wife's Kia that has wireless carplay along the same route with my phone connected. Didnt drop once, and the route I took would have dropped 3 times with my truck.

Truck is at the dealership now getting updates so we will see.

As expected, the TSB did not fix the issue. Dealership said I had 2 modules they needed to update. Pic below shows where I drop wireless CarPlay.

Sahara and Buffalo 100% drop my Android Auto if I hit the light. Once past, it comes right back. It only started happening a few months ago. Definitely environmental interference.

yes it can.....lol good luck!

Apple had an ios update released yesterday that was supposed to address carplay dropping issues. I can confirm this did not fix my issues
