Hello again my Tremor counterparts. I come with a new question. Has anyone thought about adding protection for their Catalytic Convertor? I was just under the truck and it's a thieves delight with ease of access.

My city has an ongoing rash of cat thefts and that's the last thing I want to deal with.

I wanted your opinions. I was looking at something like this :

There is another post in here about this very topic. It was a few months ago. But I don't think a solution was ever found. This looks like it would work great if it doesn't conflict with the existing skid plates. I am still a month away from taking delivery, so it's hard for me to verify the area these would cover vs. the OEM skid plates and if they would conflict.

We have the same problem where I live. There was some kind of program where you take it to a muffler shop or tech and they paint it orange, then carve or scratch your VIN on it. The places they take the converters for cash won’t accept when they are painted orange and if someone does take it there it will be returned via your VIN. At least that’s the idea. I am going to look more into it once my truck gets to the dealership

The one time I didn't do a search. I thought I had kept up with all the topics my apologies.

The issue here is if will work on the Tremor.

That's always an option and could be far cheaper than buying a plate from south of the border.

Thanks for the heads up

People are stealing the got dang cats? What in the world.
Makes me want to move out to the country and never come back.
I've seen people wrap them with rebar but this solution looks much more professional.

I say hot wire it to the battery. Make it worth their trouble.

At least your not living in the communist north!

I like the battery idea but the south African flame thrower protection mods are a bit more my style.

I'm living in the commiefornia so I feel your pain.

But I like that flame thrower idea.
I believe in a mans absolute right to protect his catalectic converter with fire. :D

At least you can drive to higher IQ states I can't even cross the border 😕.

And I too agree, fight for the right to protect your cat!

This is just another reason why straight pipes are better.

That kit looks pretty great, provides rock protection and makes it harder to steal the cat.
If anyone get's it for sure post pics and success/fail hints.

I'll email him tonight and see, I want to make sure it will work with the rock guard and fitment on these trucks.
