Been contemplating this Mod on the Tremor. Has anyone installed one yet? If so which one did you go with and what has been the experience? Many choices…

I asked the truck accesories company that installed liner and bed cover and they are recommending:

The SB looked like a solid intake… Been looking at the AFE as well. I’d like to get a little whistle out from under the hood! Heard they have helped gain a little MPG if you don’t bury the skinny pedal 😎

I was debating on adding an aftermarket intake. I was looking at the Roush. I have had aftermarket intakes in the past with no problems. Like I mentioned before I have a little more love for my Tremor. I did my research again. I believe you do gain a few HP and possibly MPG . The thing I am not sure about is what are you compromising? Don't know if it is true but it does make some sense. Read somewhere that when the vehicles are designed by the engineers, they maximize the amount of airflow without letting the contaminants in. Anymore airflow = more contaminants. If true, does that really compromise the engine in anyway?

I continue to do a lot of reading on the topic. your statement: Anymore airflow = more contaminants. If true, does that really compromise the engine in anyway?
Makes sense to me and you will find that everywhere you read, it depends on the filter medium and other factors. They do also state that it has the "potential" but never says how or how long...is it 10 years down the line or 10 months? How bad is the damage?
Not a mechanic so continue to ponder and research before pulling this trigger.

Post install.

I'd say it feels a little more responsive, it does sound better than stock.

Will report back on MPG.

This is pretty much how I've veen able to convince myself that I don't need one. Otherwise a CAI would be on my pile of parts waiting for my truck.

What are your thoughts now that you have driven it for a couple months. Just came across this thread and am contemplating buying one of these. Do you get any sort of drone in the cab when accelerating? Any performance gains? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Went with the AFE magnum intake. Maybe a little better MPG with being light on the throttle. But it you want to hear the whistle, your going to lose some MPG. You can really hear the turbos spool with the windows down. Windows up don’t hear it to much.

If you really wanted to dress up the engine bay, Cobb tuning has a carbon fiber cold air intake.

I want this one just so it matches my truck. Just don't want to spend $800.00 for eye candy just yet.

Both of those are around $700/800, its crazy; look real good though. I got a hell of a deal on a Volant (the "off-road" brand from corsa) or I wouldn't have got one at all for a hot minute. I think it'll look pretty good for now.

I chose this for 2 reasons, the looks; which I think is both aesthetic and unique. And the filter. Seemingly proprietary colab from Corsa and makes a lot of claims regarding contaminants and air flow (also says madenin America). My research has shown them to be true so I will see. Only downside is it's closed box, but thats an opinion. (Plus the stock photo is a tremor!)

On a related note, does anyone know if the turbo inlet tubes are the same for this and the last gen?
