I had a 94” f150 RC with the 5.0 that put out an unbelievable 185 hp. It had a lift and tires but my favorite thing was the double single roll bar with KC lights that I used all too often to blind on coming drivers. What fun it was to be young and also dumb. There's some new trend with folks takin RC superduty's and doing "retro" builds. Lot of chrome, KC's, big lift, big tires on buckshots, 80-90s livery. Some look decent some are...odd.

In my opinion, nowadays and regardless of the make, regular cab trucks just look odd.Not a fan of RegCabs? It’s funny how styles change over time. I remember when a RC was as cool and the SC version was rare and looked weird![]()
RCSB 4x4 with a whippled or turbo 5.0 can run (at the track) with mustangs that have the same engine mods because even though the F150 weighs more, it can get the power down better. For a teenager or retired person RC are perfect rig. I would actually lower the RC vs lift. Power to weight ratio those trucks with some help can run with a sports car.

doesn't really need to be a ton of money under the hood. $45k truck with $10k in parts can put you above 700hp for less than a Mustang GT as long as you do the work. As for 'sleeper', I'd say be wary of any truck that wants to run against a sports car...be more wary if it's lowered.I probably have an odd opinion on this but the “sleeper” thing is way over played these days. It’s getting fairly popular for these RCSB trucks to be all tuned up, so IMO its not a “sleeper” anymore. It’s just a boring base model with all kinds of money dumped under the hood. While it is always “to each their own”, it kinda screams a narcissistic mind set at the same time. What I mean is, these owners can’t enjoy the vehicle unless it’s used to ambush someone who thinks it’s a base model? I guess my perspective is it’s like Jeff Gordon going to the local go cart track in disguise to beat up on all the 12yo’s racing, to make himself feel good about his skill. I still think it’s really cool having a 1000hp RCSB but give up the “sleeper” game and call it what it is, a drag racing truck. Rant over lol

Also the RC trucks don’t come in high trim packages so by default you’re getting a base rig regardless. Get a 5.0 lowered with super charger and watch all the mustangs and Camaros run in fear loldoesn't really need to be a ton of money under the hood. $45k truck with $10k in parts can put you above 700hp for less than a Mustang GT as long as you do the work. I use the backseat for basic cargo and for my dog.For a teenager or retired person RC are perfect rig. I would actually lower the RC vs lift. Power to weight ratio those trucks with some help can run with a sports car.
