I actually think it sounds good. I like the sound of V6 turbos, there's a bunch of cars with 6 turbos that sound great. It's not a V8 but it's different, idk. I'm looking forward to hearing the borla tuning one.

I'm never putting exhaust on a 3.5. I had a Nissan 300ZX back in the day. Took it to the exhaust shop, got a full custom stainless dual magna flow exhaust. Fired it up, and was immediately embarrassed. I asked them what was up with the horrible sounds, and the reply was, "It's a V-6, they all sound like that". Gross.

Man I gotta agree with you. If it had some serious HP gains to go along with that sound I could sorta tell myself I’m getting my moneys worth. But that’s a lot of coin for it to sound like beefed up Honda Civic

If you have a tune the full catback makes a difference, especially if you have the other bolt ONS. If not, definitely not horsepower per dollar value.

Seems like you’d need down pipes and a high flow cats to get any real HP out of just a cat back. I do love power and sound but the price per pony gets pretty
steep really quick! I’m quite happy with the tone the factory exhaust. It’s pretty impressive for a 6cylinder!

On a related tangent I pulled into the trail head the other day as a new Raptor 3.5 was getting ready to leave. We nodded at each other and then he laid into it on his way out. He must have straight piped it or something because it sounded like absolute ASS! Like a kid straight piped a civic to a huge fart can. It literally hurt my ears is was so loud and raspy. Such a nice truck too…

The factory does sound good I agree.

It's my last bolt on and I'm banking on Borla really killing it, and then giving me a 20% discount for being so patient (the guy agreed in an email to discount me so let's see!)

Discount you, they laid off a bunch of employees about a month ago, seems they are having supply issues as well, inside source.

When you rev it up, every V6 with aftermarket exhaust sounds like a gay hamster farting after a hot date.

I agree but out of all the farting hamsters I will say the borla has the best sound I have heard, until mine has to be replaced I'm not to worried about it, then though I will go with borla they are very durable.
