Cruise Control Issue?

Not sure if this is an issue as I cannot remember it ever doing this before but I am thinking that this isn't right. When I activate/trurn-on the cruise control at the steering wheel as soon as I do it is already locking the speed in versus the cruise control being activated/turned-on and then me having to press the "Set" buttons to set the speed I want the cruise to be at. Truck was in the shop about a month ago for the front camera to be replaced and since then I have a fog light that is always on (going back for this in a few days) but on a trip yesterday when I turned the cruise on I found out that when I turned the cruise on it was setting the speed as well. This is not right?

2022 402a owner here. This is how it has always been for me. Second I hit the cruise control button on the steering wheel it locks the current speed, I then adjust up or down with thumb buttons.

Maybe this can be changed in the settings or forescan but it’s never bothered me personally.
