Hello everyone

I’m new here and let me say sorry in advance if this question is redundant or there a thread I can follow but haven’t seen yet. Just ordered my 2022 F150 Tremor and have heard many different timelines for it to begin production and then be sent. Everything from 6 week to start production all the way out as far as a full year. Anyone here recently order in the last 2mo and already get confirmation of production starting on their truck? I’m hoping to get it by June.

VIN#'s and Build Dates

Did anyone get their VIN#/build date today? I'm a little over a month past the order date, and I know for a lot of people that was the sweet spot for getting theirs. I haven't gotten mine yet, so I'm just trying to see if build dates/VIN#'s are still going out or if chip delays are also...

It really does vary and change based on variables that are unknown at the time of ordering. A lot of us that ordered in early-mid November got an early Jan build date that happened to coincide with the most recent chip shortage. Now our trucks are built and sitting in a parking lot waiting on chips while others who ordered later in November are starting to get their trucks.
At the time of ordering, there was no way to know there would be a chip shortage. If there wasn't a shortage, we would have had our trucks end of January.

Basically, count of 4-6 months. Could be more or could be less.

I think a lot of it depends on what you order. For example, a fully loaded 402a will demand more chips than something with less options. I've also heard spray-in bed liners will delay it. So all the extras that can be added later on, I would not check that box.

I ordered a 401a on Nov 4th and it will be at the dealer in a few days to give you an idea. Only options I picked were B&O stereo, torsen, and auto start stop delete. I didn't want sunroof, rear sliding window, tailgate step, power inverter, 306 camera, etc to give you an idea of what can be added that could delay it.

YMMV, but this has been my trek so far (mostly in sig with extra details). 402A, Torsen, B&O, 2kw onboard, power tail gate...

12/31/21 - Ordered
1/6/21 - Confirmed by Ford w VIN and First Production Date (2/28/22)
2/4/22 - Production pushed back to 3/7/22
2/7/22 - Added Torsen (My salesguy was able to get this added despite many saying once you have the VIN no changes can be made)
2/11/22 - Production pushed back to 3/14/22
2/25/22 - Production pushed back to 3/21/22

At this point fixating on it is only going to frustrate me more. Mostly I'm spending the time figuring out exactly what accessories I want and ordering in advance because those also have really long lead times.

Job two, which I am sue you are starts scheduling 3/21 from what I have read. I am certainly hooping that is the case.

Interesting. I've only gotten them on Fridays at roughly the same time so there was some hope it was consistent.

Where are you seeing these updates? On Ford dot com from the emails they send you? Also a buddy of mine told me there’s a website you can literally watch your truck be built. Step by step. But he got his truck in ‘06. Not sure that option still exists especially now with these chip issues.

I ordered mine on 2/21, received a confirmation on 2/22, and it's been crickets since. The dealership told me to expect to wait at least 6 months. I ordered a 402a AMB, and the only option I picked was auto stop/start delete. My salesman did mention the delay with the spray-in bedliner, so I didn't order that. I'm hoping I'll get it around Labor Day.

Ordered Dec 1st Vin Dec second Feb 14 build date. Was in production March 3rd. Now showing released from.plant awaiting shipment supposed to be in NB Canada on March 24th. Torsen, 402a, moonroof, power gate

You won’t see many on here that ordered the bedliner. It was pretty widely reported to delay delivery since they send them off-site.

It’s just a thinner version of Line-X anyway and comes with a worse warranty

I got the bedliner and got lucky with just a couple weeks added really - it does have the benefits that no sensors get messed up and need to be recalibrate, although minimal still an annoyance. I think it's thick enough, it's sprayed really neatly, and I like the Ford logo. Has its pros and cons, a few months ago when stuff wasn't as crazy as now I think it was worth adding on for $500.

My story is very similar. I placed the order for a 401A on 2/23, received my order confirmation same day and havent heard anything else since. As many have said now I am just browsing accessories to buy in advance. With all that is going on in the world, rising gas prices and possibly rising interest rates and trade in values decreasing not sure what to think at this point. hoping the 4-6 month wait will be a good thing!

There is a tracker you can use, but not until you get your VIN#. Most people get Emails (several have said they only come on Thursdays, others have said it's been random) a handful didn't hear anything from Ford directly but had to contact their dealer. Some didn't hear anything until the dealership called and told them their truck was delivered.
