Washing truck today and noticed a hose dangling near left rear of truck. Looks like the clippy thing disconnected, but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues...yet. 😙

I followed the line and it's attached to the rear drive shaft. Anyone know what that is? Ended up clipping it to the bed frame underneath since i couldn't locate its original location. Someone be so kind to tell me where it should be attached? Thanks in advance!

Ok, found out it is a vent hose for the axle. Thinking it should clip right above mounting bracket above shocks.

Could someone take a pic of theirs to confirm? It should be pretty easy to get to, just behind the left rear shocks.

Thanks!

"clippy thing" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: That's so awesome. I usually say dingus

LOL. Could you provide a pic of where that "clippy" thing should connect to? Thanks!
Sorry, but mine is still waiting to be built otherwise I'd be happy to. If we had any at a local dealer, I'd crawl under one and snap a photo for you as well. But, I'm sure someone will. Come on folks, I know it's Sunday, but let's help a brother out!!!

It runs along the orange wire bundle and is zip tied to a stand-off with the orange bundle. Using the spare tire as a reference point, it ends roughly inline with the center, just aft of the frame cross member. Best I could do with the spare on.

Was that taken from the right side of the truck? Mine I believe is tied that way too from there, but it's the end that came loose. Wonder if you can see where the other end of the tube goes to, presumably above the leaf springs on the left side. If not, no worries. Appreciate the effort!

I went back out and took a look and where I thought it ended it takes a 90 deg turn. Here is a shot of where it actually ends. You have it in the right area. It should be clipped to the body. Photo is drivers side (left) looking forward.

Whoohoo! That's what I was looking for 👍👍👍

Will probably see about zip-tying it as I'm sure it will fall off again. I'll post pics once I have it rigged. I'm sure it's bound to happen to other owners. Thanks again!!

Ok, just clipped it back in, but slightly further back. I found that the clippy thing grabs on much better and locks in on the thicker metal versus the thinner notch it was originally placed at. Couldn't even force it off my hand. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Mine was dangling as well. So you helped me. Thank you.

I was digging snow out of my rims last weekend and also noticed mine was dangling. when it warms up i was thinking of extending the hose and running it up towards taillight and putting a proper vent on the end for further piece of mind. im sure the ford engineers are smarter than me but being open at the end really bugs me.

The hose divides into 2 pieces at the ends. I wonder if that's what it's already connected to.

Dang! That's no good!

Just checked mine - securely clipped. But now I know to periodically take a peek.

Mine came out and found this thread. Thanks.
