Disable Remote Tailgate Release

When I have my camper hooked up the power tongue jack is relatively close to the hitch

If I accidently hit the remote tailgate release on the key fob or button on the dash the tailgate will for sure whack the jack.

Is their a way to disable the tailgate release without the power tailgate option?

Only way I can find is to jimmy with the key fob or un plug the tailgate.

I don’t really want to mess with the fob and unplugging the tailgate isn’t option because I have bed cover and need to open tailgate to open it.

Have you tried it? The sensor might not let it open because there's something in the way.

You can disable the fob using FORscan, but I'm not sure if that also disables the dash button.

I tried it but tailgate still opens.

Have you tried to remotely open the tailgate with your trailer hooked up and with the plug in? It could be a safety feature when a trailer is plugged in, that it wont open the tailgate.

I’ll have to look tomorrow but I’m pretty sure there is an option in the menu to disengage the electric tailgate and switch it to manual mode. Have you looked in the setting options?

You can do that with the power up and down tailgate. Not sure about power down only.
