For the life of me I can’t seem to do better than 14 mpg on a several hundred mile 85% mostly highway drive. Keeping up with traffic means upper 70’s mph with occasional 80+ speeds passing etc.
I’m on stock 18’s, 35’s AS lift, intake and cat back exhaust, Pedal Commander on city mode 3, I also had Pedal Commander off all together and just lost throttle response with no gain in mpg’s.
My car was loaded down with my family of 5, bed was full with 3 Onewheels, Segway scooter and loaded with luggage.

I hear people claiming high teens mpg to breaking into 20 mpg with 35’s. To average that type of mpg do you all keep speed under 60 or 65, do you run eco mode? Any advice is appreciated as I want to improve my mpg’s to 14 or so in city and 18 or so highway.

I can get 18-19 on back road highways where speed is 60avg with some stoplights mixed in. This is the reported mpg by the truck computer which seems to be generous by about .8mpg vs calculation.

I avg 16.8 mix of city and highway.

Are you resetting the mpg just before your trip and check it as soon as you arrive? Things like sitting at a drive through window kill the mpg computations on trips.

Up and down mountains of AZ 18.5 and I have a lead foot (not color). Came from a 4Runner and I am getting 2mpg better, so I am very happy. Straight and level I can get 20.5 and I always exceed speed limit by about 5 mph …

Yes I am checking after two 350 mile highway runs. Truck was pretty loaded down, that’s running 93 octane, I was getting just about the same on 87 octane. I’ll keep trying to find the sweet spot.

I'm convinced to get good fuel mileage speeds need to be below 70mph with very few stop lights/intersections. The best I've seen out of my truck is 15.5mpg at the pump in the last 7k miles. I also see the trip computer giving me another .5-1.0 mpg than actual.

I drove interstate doing the speed limit of 80mph for 800 miles with very few stops, average was 14.5mpg. Sounds like you are getting average mileage for a 3.5 at higher speeds. Not sure they can cruise at 80 without being in the boost a little, killing the mpg. I'm on stock wheels and tires too.

Speed exponentially kills MPG's for sure - meaning it's not linear. You drive 10% faster, it's more than 10% harder on the truck (or any vehicle). I would bet you'll get DRAMATICALLY better MPG's on trips where your average speed is 55-65 as opposed to 75-85. It's just....physics.

Well I just ran a 130 mile trip one way a couple of weeks ago now this is stock tires, so they are lighter and therefore will get better mpg, on the drive I averaged 20.4 mpg, running at 78mph set on cruise. It's not flat even on the interstate here so I consider that a win. Now with heavier tires and more height up front you would lose about 2mpg based on previous experience with other trucks. I still believe my switch on the air filter did improve my mpg just slightly, it improved ever so slightly as time went, after the first 500 miles, and this was just a drop in filter.

3300 miles on everything stock, and so far for the life of the truck I'm averaging 18.3mpg according to the Fuel Economy tracker that I haven't reset since I took posession.

Last time i drove a few hundred miles of highway doing 70 to 75 (bone stock setup) I was getting about 20 mpg. Never in ECO mode. In town I'd say around 16 mpg

Around 17-18 mpg for full stock running 85 octane at altitude but not stop start traffic Higher octane and eco mode didn’t seem to improve that noticeably. On highway I have seen 20mpg but that doesn’t happen often. Around 4mpg less than my 2017 Lariat under the same conditions, but a small price to pay for the smile factor I always seem to have when in the Tremor.

Forgot to add, this is running 91 octane

I get between 19 and 20 on Premium.. mixed driving.. occasionally school the oblivious mofo trying to cut me off who also doesn't realize the rockets we are sitting on :p

I'm curious if you changed the circumference settings using forscan..

It's mainly for the speedometer, but wondering if it's throwing something off.. ?
