I hadn't intended on writing anything more about the Eibach kit I tried to use for a level lift but it's so dang good that I felt compelled to write something.
As some of you know, I ordered the Eibach Stage 2 pro truck 2.0 kit E86-35-035-01-22 which contain the same parts as for 2015+ F150s. For 2015-2020 non-lifted F150s this kit is meant to level lift the front .5" - 3" and accepts up to a 1.5" rear lift (block).
When I installed them on the Tremor, they were set at 3" of thread showing which loosely translates to a 2.5" lift for a stock F150 (non-FX4). While this did provide nearly 1.5" of lift for my Tremor, there was too much preload on the spring to allow the truck to droop more than 1/2" I installed both coilovers and even before I drove the truck, I realized this was not a reasonable solution for going off road.
I contacted Tire Rack and Eibach with what I found and they were gracious enough to provide a full refund. With that out of the way, and a few extra days to monkey around a bit, I took the opportunity to adjust the suspension to a more reasonable setting which is why I'm writing this..
I ended up dropping the threads to 2.5" which dropped the lift about an inch overall. reset my UCA/LCA bolts at the new ride height and put the rear shocks on. After taking it for a spin in my back yard and on road for ~ 100 miles, I found both the front and rear to absorb jarring bumps better and substantially less springiness from the rear. (our stock shocks can be compressed by a half torn wet paper towel) overall control and manners over moderate potholes were substantially improved.
Front coilover performance:
On road - These springs are outstanding! They keep the truck well supported and compress in a very predictable and welcomed manner. The shocks were immediately appreciated going over potholes and on the interstate. There is no doubt that these are more than worth the $900 retail
Off road - My back yard has minor ruts, 10 degree+ off camber turns, slippery 35 degree trails, big roots and moderate rocks. These coilovers were comfortable and predictable through all of it.
Rear shock performance:
On road - The rear is noticeably more firm in-so-much as it controls the spring of the leaf packs much better than the non-existent dampening of our stock rear shocks. This is not to say it is rigid or jarring in any way. I just got back from intentionally hitting every pothole and bump I could (including a few swipes at a speed bump from different angles). It absorbed everything I threw at it with comfort and not once did I hit my head on the window from being thrown side-to-side.
Off road - noticeably more controlled over rocks and ruts. the shocks are very responsive while not allowing the leaf springs to bounce the truck all over.
TLDR:
.5" lift
<.5" increased droop
These are good enough to inspire me to write about it.
Fronts are fantastic but you'll only get 1/2" lift if you want improved ride quality.
Rear Shocks are a no-brainer. OE shocks are barely dampened.
These are an absolute upgrade all around. If they were only an inch longer/more travel....
