‘25 Tremor 5.0
After doing a plethora of research on different exhaust options just ordered the Flowmaster Outlaw for my 25’ 5.0 which is on sale! Was either this or muffler delete, this option being more easily reversible.

Surprised there wasn’t any posts about this muffler on this forum, I like it because it keeps the true deep tone of a v8 without a lot of the raspiness that other exhaust options like Corsa give. Video to come in about a week when it arrives!

I’m interested. I just want a sound that is deep rich but not really much louder per se. I think the FX might be good for me.

The exhaust note on the CORSA Sport exhaust for the 5.0 TREMOR sounds raspy? 🤔
The FLOWMASTER is cheaper though.

I would definitely choose the outlaw again, not as loud as I was expecting and that’s more than okay! Just lets me hear the v8 a little more. It’s on sale right now still on their website haha.

Install was a little pain even with a lift, would rather do a full cat back than messing with little tabs 🤣.

Any issues with droning? Sounds great standing still for sure.

If I’m not mistaken, another member on here put it on their TREMOR and yes, he said it definitely has drone.

Absolutely no drone, I have the resonator on it still.
I just got an Outlaw installed today, kept the resonator as well. Drove around a bit to listen.. No drone as I define it (steady monotonous noise). Definitely hear the rumble of the exhaust but not overbearing and having grown up in the era of big blocks and glasspacks, that sound is music to my ears.

I assume you are still happy with the Outlaw muffler? That just moved to the top of my list.

I've been planning the Borla S-type mid-pipe or an MBRP system but they are way too expensive for what they are. My previous 5.0 F150 had the pre-axle MBRP with no res. It sounded great, but was very loud which I honestly didn't mind.

So far, yes, Im loving it!

Droning isn't so much the problem with these after market exhausts. Its the constant sound of it going into cylinder deactivation mode and the very low note it makes. For me it was more than I could bear but if you dont think you will have an issue with that then go for it.
Or you could just drive around in sport mode everywhere and not have to worry about the cylinder deactivation

nah, I had that and the auto start/stop turned off with a tune from Oz tuning. Definitely the best mod on my old F150 5.0 and loving it on this new one as well. The stock 10spd shift pattern was pretty unbearable for me.

Just did 2 highway drives of 3 hours each over the weekend. Yes, you can hear the exhaust but it certainly wasnt annoying. Im still loving it!!

I got the Outlaw muffler for $390 all in. Another $250 for my local muffler wizard to install it. He said something about the flanges not fitting and he ended up having to cut and weld. I have the 2025 F150 401A. I'm happy with the sound, at first coming from stock it felt like oh boy this is a lot of in cabin noise. It's no longer pristinely quiet (coming from a Wrangler 392 which is loud as heck inside). If someone's sensitive to 'drone', which is really any noise in the cabin, this muffler will likely be too much for you.

I personally love it. The engine sounds great. I don't mind the cylinder deactivating, it's not the prettiest sound but it doesn't happen often and if you really hate it just drive in sport mode, that never deactivates cylinders. I wish there was a way to make the truck always in sport mode, so we don't have to select it every time.

I also installed an Auto Start/Stop Eliminator (company name too) so the engine never shuts off. Someone mentioned earlier they accomplished this by tune, but I've heard on the newer models any tune you get is overwritten on the next over-the-air update from Ford. I could be wrong there.

Too bad there wasn't an exhaust option available like on the Mustang that didn't cost an arm and leg

If you want a little rumble with minimal cabin noise, I'd definitely Yelp/Google Review a great muffler shop near you and see if they produce in-house hand made truck mufflers. They aren't built to each motor, they are more of a general build but will open up the exhaust with a focus on keeping cabin noise aka 'drone' low as possible.

Another option is removing the resonator and seeing how you feel. That's a very cheap entry method but once it's done there's really no undoing it where as mufflers can be interchanged or put back to stock.

If you're on end, make sure you tell the muffler shop you want to keep your OEM muffler in case you have second thoughts otherwise they will scrap it.
