Could someone give me the third grade rundown of Ford Pass?

Does it track everywhere you go? If so, can you disable it?

Does it track your speed?

Do they charge you to use it?

Do most of you have it or is it just another way for another company to poke in to your life?

Side note, will my iPhone gps maps display on my truck screen because I didn’t pay for and don’t want to pay for Ford’s navigation services?

Thank you for any input.

I've been using Ford Pass since I bought my 18 Explorer. It's free, I can remote start my car/lock & unlock from the app.

Personally it's handy, esp when I remote start my car in the early AM. Don't have to lock it before starting and have the dog go nuts when it beeps ..

It does help track service schedule/miles/oil life (and you can set up services through the app like oil changes).

It does use GPS but you may be able to turn it off (vehicle locator)

It also connects to my account, for billing n what not.

As for the maps, I'm not sure if it's over the air but you should be able to plug your phone in and it should mirror your apple/Google maps without issue. I use Waze all the time on my screen.

It's also good to check on the vehicle, oil life, location, lock the doors if your in bed and not sure if you remembered to lock them haha. It will also give you recall notices.

Thanks for the info. I’d like to find out if you can turn that tracking off. I get tired of everything trying to keep tabs on you. I just find it annoying. Great to hear about the gps. I’m hoping I can do it with Bluetooth.
