Agree. But food for thought (from an attorney with decades of experience)….

Imagine the situation where Ford denies your warranty based on the tune that they sold you. How do you think that would play out in arbitration or a court? Sure, it’ll be a pain in the butt, but ultimately you would win and frankly create a public nightmare for ford. Also, the likelihood of this happening is extremely low as Ford has absolutely reviewed the parameters of the tune and tested it before they put their name on it. So, technically yes there is contractual language that limits the customers rights under warranty. However, practical outcome, likelihood and legal success is with the customer.

Again, just one person’s opinion.

Counterpoint: imagine spending 50 hours of time addressing the denial in arbitration while not having a functional vehicle and it depreciates. Also, Ford will not have a public nightmare since nobody will really care that a guy who modded his truck has a problem with it.

Or, you could just pay the dealership that services your truck a couple hundred bucks to install and maintain a warranty on the tune and mitigate a future powertrain warranty denial since the local dealership has more exposure within the local news or yelp.

I added B2B warranty 7yr/100k so I’d like whoever installed it to look me in the eye if they try tell me it’s not covered

Absolutely guarantee that if you read the Terms and Conditions you agreed to in the warranty that it will state any aftermarket modifications that cause failures will not be covered. Guarantee it.

Have a look at the install instructions. If you have a windows laptop and are mostly literate it's a super easy job!
