Looks like they will be starting to deliver without some features enabled but chips can be dealer installed within a year. I guess I could live without rear seat heaters for a little while if it means my truck didn't spend 3 months sitting in a field in Michigan.

Gm has been doing this for sometime, my boss bought a trail boss about 9 months ago and just now got heated seats and some other stuff that needed chips done 2-3 weeks ago.

My only concern would be if we have to have it installed at the dealer we bought from. Mine is about a 13 hour round trip drive. I know some of you guys who bought from granger are even farther away.

Hopefully could be installed by any dealer, should just be snapping in a module. Granger will be a 16 hour drive for me, can't do a 32 hour round trip to pick up a chip.

Hopefully it's just the Explorers mentioned in the article. If I thought my old car could make it another year, I'd cancel my order.

Have a feeling I'd be renting out a spot on the Granger lot if the dealership you bought from is where it has to be done. I want the truck but not that bad, if they start to include tremors, hopefully there's an option to decline. I'll wait🤷🏻‍♂️
