Atlas Blue Tremor
Long Road to a Tremor

Ordered a fully loaded Tremor at the end of October. Order received and confirmed October 25 2021. Made a trade in deal and was pre approved because it would be here in a few weeks. When we received the window sticker the blend date was 1/27/2022. If you are not new to the forum you know the pain of all the January build members. Tremor kept being pushed back and I started looking for a new truck even if it wasn’t a Ford. There is nothing out there that compares to this truck. Ford pushed me back to August 4 2022 as an “anticipated final production date”. Mean while other people are getting their Tremors and lots are seeing them come and go. I started looking every night at all the dealerships around me for incoming Tremors. Running the VIN’s to see if they have shipped. Kept finding a few here and there that are not fully loaded . I ordered a black one and found an Atlas Blue not spoken for. It was missing the 2K Pro Power and locking under seat storage. I went and looked at it and loved the color. I usually only buy black and get tired of cleaning it. Then go silver and get tired of its plain Jane appearance. I kinda impulse bought it because of the frustration of waiting and Ford is dropping options every month. This still had everything but the ASS.

Congrats. Man that is a long road. I don't know if I could wait like that. Especially being a part of this forum isn't helping any. I look back when I got mine in September. If I did not jump on it then, I have no idea when I would have got one. If that one did not show up, I would have ordered and we know how that goes. Congrats again.

Suspension

I have been looking at the leveling kit thread almost everyday. I have seen a lot of good looking trucks, I had originally planned on doing something like the ICON kit and 35’s. But after seeing CV angles and tire fitment I decided to go with the 4” Rough Country Tremor lift as it keeps the front skid plate and requires no cutting. I Down loaded the instructions and it shows cutting the frame. Tried getting a answer out of RC if it is 100% bolt on with no cutting and they said it was. But when I told them the instructions say to cut the same tab off that every diff drop does they acted like I was stupid. If I have to cut the frame i better just go with BDS. I was talked into the 6” kit and of course the coil overs are back ordered 12-16 weeks. So its just running the pucks for now.

During covid I had a campervan built out and enjoyed working off the inverter, even when my van was not running. The 2W pro-power system is not really that great in my opinion, so you are not missing much. You have to have the engine running to use the outlets (even though it has a dedicated battery). My 4Runner would at least let you run off AC at a lower wattage. I would rather have just installed my own inverter and used it as needed.

I have heard its not that good several times. I mainly wanted it to rapid charge my SoGen when driving that keeps my fridge running. I will probably do a Red Arc system for a little more than the Ford one and it is one of the best out there.

I was able to run a plug in palm sander off the 400W in my '15 so I figure the ability to run a circular saw, charge some portable batteries, etc might be cool.

I was definitely dissapointed hearing that the truck had to be running to use it. I feel like I had heard that all of the generators would turn the truck on/off as needed at some point. That would have been much cooler.

Reminds me of the conversation about running a three point attached log splitter off the PTO on a tractor. You are going to run your $30k tractor at a decent RPM for hours at a time to run a PTO driven $800 log splitter to do the same job that a $800 log splitter with a honda motor would do.

It’s going to super handy for charging my boat batteries though, and great for camping, was a must-have feature for me.

Glad you finally got one, great color!

I’m confused, is this your Tremor? I thought you just picked up the other blue. Is this BDS kit readily available?
I ordered a Black Tremor that is still on chip hold. Picked this one up at a dealership. I may have said the wrong color, but it the same truck. BDS‘s official statement is their kit will not work with the Tremor. But I have seen at least 4 other trucks with this kit. The kits with the pucks are available right now. The BDS/Fox coilover kits are back ordered. But you can upgrade at anytime. I am waiting on the Fox shocks with the DCS Valveing. That is 12-16 weeks out. On the 150 Facebook forum I think someone said TC Customs still has complete coilover kits Available.

Is it 12-16 weeks until the Fox with DCS are available to order or is that lead time after order placed?

Thank you for choosing BDS Suspension. I am sorry. Unfortunately we do not have any in stock. You would be looking at 12-16 weeks from the date of your purchase to ship out.

Air Bags

From spending so much time on this forum waiting for my truck it looked like the rear springs are really soft. Hence the huge rake on these things. I tow a boat and side by sides and even with a standard F-150 towing is so much better with air bags.

I went with the Air Lift standard 5000's. I do not like the bags with the bump stops in them. Daystar cradles and 4" Air Lift spacer.

The BDS kit adds a bump stop on the lift block. I had to cut it off to make room for the bags.

Bags do not interfere with the ride height sensors at all.

Side note on the Daystar Cradles, they add 3/4" of mounting height. I would be better with a 3" lift block instead of the 4". Then the bags would not be engaged when they are empty. I have not decided where to mount the fillers for the bags yet. I will run 3-5 PSI in them when not towing. I was also going to change out my factory Ford fender liners to the Husky as they cover more of the frame. I have changed my mind thinking it will be easier to keep the bags and cradle washed off since you can see and get to them.
