Hey all,
I'm curious to know if anyone on here has mounted up any auxiliary / off-road lights on the front of their Tremor yet? I'm a big fan of hideaway options but currently looking at the following kits from Baja Design's.

Would love to know / see if anyone has installed an LED bar behind the grille or something I haven't considered yet.

I'm a fan of quality lights. I've seen a LOT of cheap lights leak and end up with water inside or just flat out quit working in part or in whole. Baja Designs makes good stuff, Rigid still seems to be a big player, I have a pair from Vision X that have held up great, I'm recently pretty impressed and intrigued with Diode Dynamics. I recently bought a set of their SS3 Pro fogs for the wife's 4runner and holy cow...

I don't like the 'tacked' on look of lights as much as the stealthier or at least integrated look (not that I don't have some). I was wondering if these flush mount kits from Diode Dynamics would fit in the black plastic trim in the bumper:
Right here (I don't have my truck yet so can't measure this available space):

Camera in the grill and sensors makes me want to not mess with stuff down there. I was thinking of just getting the Baja Pillar lights with wide cornering lenses.

I'd be sort of interested to try some Amber lights down low as fog light enhancements. But the stock fog lights are good enough I'm not looking to replace with the Baja 1500 dollar kit.

Curious for your thoughts on the stock headlights. Are they decent? Barely adequate? I've heard one guy said he thought they were good....just curious. Sounds like you're happy with the stock fogs.

Pillar lights or ditch lights mounted to the cowl are popular and easy enough. They look a LITTLE tacked on for me...but not much else you can do in that area. I've brainstormed a bit with mounting some onto and below the mirror itself to tuck them in a little closer...I don't know. Like here:

The lower you get them (or really just the further from your line of sight), the better they accentuate changes in the road surface.

I have no issues with the stock head lights. They seem good to me. Some additional wide near field lighting seems helpful, but I don't see any reason at this point to get any more lighting beyond that. That said I have never installed lights on any car I've owned. I am no offroad guru. So what do I really know.

The only other thing I was curious about was amber lights for use in snow.

I agree, I too have seen a lot of cheap lights. I've been happy with baja's as I had a pair of squadron's and a pair of S2's on my '09 F150 for ~6 years before I traded it in. Took them off and re-sold, the squadron's were almost like new and the S2's had some corrosion as they were mounted under the rear bumper for reverse lights. I've seen rigid's deteriorate (on my Dad's raptor) with water vapor in the lenses and the paint coming off after ~2 years of use.

I'm definitely after the integrated look if I can mange it. I was hoping someone here had either thought of some options or installed something creative. Some options might be:
  • Behind the grille - might require removal of 1 or 2 of the active shutters. Baja Designs indicates that 2 shutters are required to be removed on the new Raptor for their behind the grille kit
  • Intercooler gap - for me that would require relocating the license plate to one side or the other and mounting via the black trim piece above the tow hooks

These supposedly work with the 21-22 f150 including tremor, that's based on an email from their sales manager, he also stated they were trying to work on making the Honey Badger with a winch mount. Anybody that lives close to their shop could possibly get a huge discount or free parts if the just offer up their truck to let them design for it specifically, not only helping them out but everyone else that is interested in options.

Man, that's a LOT of light. It looks fine to me if in principle you're good with bumper-mounted lights like that. I prefer a little cleaner or more integrated look, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious solution for that yet.
I'd expect the aftermarket to develop more fog light replacement kits and such in the near future for the 21+ F-150's.
If you like the look of auxiliary lights and like the Baja-race look, then quality light pods on the bumper like this fit the bill.

Looks better than I was expecting it to look, but I am not a fan of the tacked on look that comes with mounting on the bumper like that. But… I still really want that output!

I agree, I'm after the integrated look but I want the output. I'll just have to be patient and give the aftermarket time to develop something better.

Fog light replacement kits are available.

So here’s what I’ve got planned 2 ditch lights and I’ve ordered 5 more pods to put in the lil bumper spot not sure how I’ll mount them yet but east enough to figure out. M&R makes a mount for the raptor so can’t be that hard. These pods are listed at 4,800L ea so should do the trick 😎

Looks great! Which ditch bracket did you use?
These ones from Amazon definitely could have made some myself but for $29 you can’t go wrong definitely a good easy relatively low cost mod.
