Has anybody relocated their front license plate? I don't like that the license plate blocks airflow into the intercooler, I think its a poor location for the 3.5 EB motor.
I'm in one of the states that requires a front license plate unfortunately so looking for ideas that look good to stay league here. I may still just not put it on anyway....

I’m looking at moving it to the passenger side plastic trim next to the inter cooler intake. Just haven’t committed yet. I’ve seen a few kits that use the passenger side tow hook mounts but I don’t want to loose that either.

I removed mine and my state requires it. Never had an issue though. I’m glad it wasn’t drilled into like some dealers do and have holes in the bumper.

Yep, I’ve play that game as well on previous my previous vehicle.

I did get pulled over my a State Trooper that seemed to care. Gave me a fix it ticket on the front license plate and a tint ticket at the same time… Front license plates are a joke, same with the front window tint here.

I’ve had tint issues only when renewing a vehicle for safety. That’s rough.

I mean I guess I can’t be mad since I know the laws but man in sunny states and summer heat the tint sure does help.

Funny how all the police vehicles are all murdered out to boot.

Rules for thee but not for me kinda deal.

This can be used to relocate in n several different places, may have to modify the bracket a little for different locations but it requires no drilling or glue, fortunately I don't need to worry about it in my state.

I'm going to ask my dealer to not install front bracket when it when it arrives. I'm in CO and it is required but we don't have one on my wife's car and haven't had an issue. My buddy is a LEO and he said you typically won't get pulled over for it but they might add another citation. I thought they looked better and were more functional from an intercooler standpoint when it was off center.

I'm considering the relocation bracket from Mishimoto. It's a clean look and appears to be a very solid installtion. Here's a link to it below:

My only concern is whether or not the license plate, being relocated, will interfere with the front sensor(s) on either side of the opening for the intercooler (whichever side you chose to mount it) as well as the adaptive cruise. Any input on this?

You should be fine if you mount it on the passenger side. Drivers side is where the Adaptive Cruise sensor is. I like the concept a lot, but don’t want to loose a tow hook!

I've been thinking about this myself. My state requires it unless the vehicle didn't originally come with a way to mount it to the front. I see 5 or 6 without in my neighborhood alone any time I walk my dog.

also apart of the crowd that should be displaying one but isn't. last truck didn't have one for a few years so i should be ok.

First thing I did when I got home with mine was remove the front bracket and the dealer plate frames. No free advertising with me. Texas requires the front but have had an issue in the past 10 years of not having one. The bracket is now a dust collector in the garage and i put the spare plate in the center console. If stopped the story is Officer the bracket was damaged and the part is on backorder with the dealer. 😬

It look to me like relocated the license plate directly above the tow hook would block a sensor.

However if it was say, canted from the hook about 45degrees and 3 inches, it'd fit perfectly...

That was gunna be my excuse to lol

I went ahead and ordered the relocation bracket from Mishimoto. I'm going to install it this weekend and hope that it doesn't interfere with the parking sensors🤞. I'll post an update once it's all buttoned up.
