Just realized that our Fuel door does not lock so people are able to steal gas? Are they able to steal gas with those capless design?
I've had other vehicles in the past that the door would lock if the vehicle was locked. I haven't had my gas ever stolen from me but with the gas prices nowadays, I would feel way more comfortable with it being locked up. Anybody have ideas or have added something to secure it? If we had caps then I know I could just add that key cap but that's a bitch to deal with. I don't understand why Ford didn't just have it locked when the other doors are locked.

I wouldn't worry. I found out the hard way the day after super storm Sandy when I tried to Siphon gas out of my 2013 F-150 and my kids car's. Its not going to happen. They have a valve down below its primary use is for rollovers that fuel can't comeback out.

Thanks. That makes sense. Ya after posting did some research. Didn't realized they design that system a certain way. I am just so used to it being locked in the past. This is new for me lol. I did find a locking cap from Ford. I am assuming this is just for piece of mind and also maybe to prevent the bad guys doing dumb shit like putting sugar or whatever crazy things people come up with nowadays.

Even then they will need to know to use the funnel that pushes the second flap open. If your new the funnel is with the jack.

People dont siphon gas anymore to steal it, they just drill a hole in the tank and drain it. Faster and easier for them. And almost all vehicles now have anti siphon valves.

Now days they skip the gas all together and go for the CAT.

Man I ordered that Ford locking fuel plug thinking that it would fit. Just felt better knowing people can't put anything in there. It stated fits up to 2014. I was thinking same capless system it should fit. Then took another look at pics and youtube. The 2021 cap area looks different. Don't think it will fit so was quick to cancel lol. Will maybe look into Cat protection now.
