I found a 22 the way I want it, also have a local dealer that will get me the deal if I order a 23.
22 is Iconic Silver 402A,Front torsen, work surface,B&O,tow and roof
23 would be the same, except I would not get the roof, and possibly Iconic silver, Azure or Antimatter

22 has 400 miles on her- was used by the dealer owner for local parade ( also a 200 mile drive and could pick it up this week )
he mentioned a decal on it advertising the dealer would be removed ( I haven't seen it yet )
23 - obviously is slightly more $, no heated steering wheel or heated mirrors. Which my current 2014 FX4 doesn't have anyway.

Any thoughts or help?
Thanks

I guess it comes down to what deal they are making for either and if you’re willing to wait for the truck ordered the way you want it (heated steering wheel aside). As far as the 23 is concerned, why would you not be able to get the roof or those colors?

I would leave off the sunroof if I order it. and not decided on which of those 3 colors yet.
both dealers are fair with my trade, and A/Z plan for either 22 or 23. I built the 23 on Ford.com looks like the pricing went up about $1000.00 over 22's. I left off the roof and was priced about the same as the 22 that is currently available.

22' would make sense since you dont have to wait approx. half a year. as long as you are getting a fair deal and if it doesnt bother you that in a couple months it is a year old then go for it.

edit: saw you doing a trade in. who knows how used car values will be in the future. will probably get more for a trade in now.

Thanks
22- MSRP w.402A and options is $73300, A-Zplan is $65600 for this one and hey will give me right at $19K for my trade. ( 2014 FX4 with 96000 miles ) clean, and no issues
I am leaning that way, wanted to check here if it was worth making the deal on the 22.

slight chance they backout on the 22 deal, I like all 3 colors for different reasons
Antimatter is great (just dark). silver is cool, and Azure is new(haven't seen it real life yet )
since my 2014 is sterling grey, I didn't really want Stone or Carbon since they are really close to what I have :)

I would personally do the 22... But that's just me. I almost snagged a 21 a month after I placed an order for a 22. I wish I would have done that as it had more options that have been removed from the 22's and are not in the 23's. And... I got the chip hold which meant my truck was delayed after being built and sat in a field for an extra 6 months. Then, it was damaged in shipping and it took another month to get the parts to repair it.

All in all... I don't think I would recommend to anyone to order a truck right now if they can avoid it. When the chip "shortage" is resolved? I would do it again in a heart beat.

Just my .02

Go ‘22. I had a ‘22 on order and ended up with a ‘21. Glad I got the options that weren’t coming in the ‘22.

Heated steering wheels are under rated. Just because you didn’t have it on your last truck doesn’t mean you don’t need it. What kind of manly working man wants to go to work with cold hands??

Thanks everyone, I may see if the dealer with the 22 isn't pulling my leg on the deal. worse case I keep looking and/or order a 23.

Thanks

Do you want to sell the vehicle in 3 years? If so, get a 2023 because it will be worth more (it's a year newer). If you want to keep it and drive it into the ground, go for the best deal. 2022 vehicles have missing chips just like 2023 vehicles will and we won't be getting out of this chip shortage anytime soon.

Also, trading in your vehicle NOW is a better financial deal for you because the prices seem to be dropping lately.

Unless you wanted the 5.0 then like everyone else said, snag the 22 while you can. My local dealership can't keep any in, the service manager was looking to buy one they got in and the sales manager came out while he was looking at it and having me look it over and told him it was sold, some guy from out of state called and took it.

I waited 7 months for my 2022, but wish it was a 2021 because it would have more options. Who knows how long a 2023 will take to get.

For me personally the 22 all the way, you have no idea how long you'll be waiting for the 23 and the steering wheel and mirrors are what they are telling you about now, what about in 2 weeks, it's an unknow, plus as you mentioned, they are going to cost more.

The only reason I can see waiting for a 23 is if you absolutely have to have the 5.0. Coming myself from a 2013 Fx4 with the 5.0, I never wanted an Ecoboost, I was brought up to think natural displacement is better and there is just more to go wrong on the ecoboosts.

I have to say, I love my 22 so far, is the engine more complicated, sure, but everything can be fixed. I'm over the moon with my 22, I was also able to make a decision I was upgrading, sell my truck, and find a perfect 22 250 miles away and buy it all within a week.

Thanks again everyone. I should have it tomorrow. :)

already thinking of the "TO DO" List;
Tonneau Cover
Front Coil-over
Tinted windows 20% ( probably friday morning )

Go for it! And congrats! And, watch your wallet, there are guys on here (ahem @Yeti) who will help lighten your wallet. Not speaking from experience, just observation.

Thanks, There are definitely a lot more things I can or possibly will get.
not sure which brand bed cover or coilover's yet.

Trust me, the choices are daunting. I just lurk and read. Oh, and hope that they offer to sell something that was good but they found something better. ;)

I was in a similar boat.

Lease on my 2020 platinum FX4 was up September 2023 and wanted a V8 Tremor so I could supercharge it. But a tanking used vehicle market, more options being stripped from 2023s and uncertainty with the order led me to grab a 2022 that came available and get as much of the positive equity as I could out of the lease. I love my Tremor and the new ecoboost vs the 2020 3.5 that I had is a beast. Very glad I went with the available now 2022.

New owner of a 2022-Tremor ! We made the deal over the phone/text and email. They brought it to me and took my trade-in. Everything worked out. This Tremor is really nice. Thanks again for all your input and thankfully the dealer was honest. Time to start some mods :) I never really looked that close to the new trucks, lot nicer than my 2014-FX4 on the inside
