Or make it so the functioning roush f150 vents can be added w/o buying a new hood

I've been thinking about this. Cutting out some slots or holes in the vent piece and the hood should make them functional. But I am not sure if it is worth it.

I also heard today it might void warranty. And.... if you buy a roush hood and insurance has to replace it, they will run your VIN and cover a tremor hood only .... not the roush hood. And paint job is not included when you buy a roush hood.

You can add custom parts coverage to your insurance policy and save the receipt. That hood will depreciate like the rest of the truck but it would be covered if you had a claim.

Good to know now to raise over 1500 for the upgrade lol

Doesn't seem like it would be to hard if you really wanted to do it.

What are you trying to accomplish with functional hood vents? Do you have issues with overheating?

It's so hot where I live in figured the extra ventilation could help

I’m just waiting to see a post where the lightohilcs add LED’s into the hood vents haha
😂…..You just gave them an idea so don’t be surprised to see someone with said lighting.

The vents on the side are real I think. I'm just asking, but would real hood vents even help?

Those vents hold so much soap suds when washing. I would fucking drench the engine with gallons every wash if they were active vents. Good luck on your decision
My favorite was the first wash I didn’t rinse well enough and soapy water start splashing my windshield

I would be happy with a drain hole so I don’t have to spend 5-10 minutes trying to get all the water out from the useless vents everytime I wash it. The hood is one of the only things I don’t like about the trunk. A stupid design with useless vents that just make more work.

I use my leaf blower to blow all the water out of those vents and use it to mostly dry the truck .

I do that too. Still takes 5 mins to get the water out. I’m sure water pooling up under the vents for extended periods of time like in the winter will be good for the paint and hood long term. If you don’t get in front of a problem you’ll always be behind it.

you'd want to yarn test this area to make sure it actually be pulling air out of the engine compartment. Counter intuitive I know, but many times this area (close to the base of the windscreen) has positive pressure at speed. Meaning, it would potentially pull air into the engine compartment and start building positive pressure behind the radiator, thus reducing cooling capacity. That can typically be resolved with a gurney/wicker at the front edge of the vent... but from my time building chump car and 24hrs of lemons race cars... I've screwed up pressure in an engine bay more then once adding hood vents in areas like this.
