I’ve got a new one for ya. Hopefully no one else has experienced this yet.
I had a hood latch malfunction while going 75mph down the interstate. The hood opened on its own. It thankfully caught the “safety” manual latch and did not come all the way open. I can confirm the hood was shut and no ajar warning was present on the dash before it opened. I got a warning on the dash saying to slow down and pull over to close the hood. No apparent damage seemed to occur, but my butt was sure puckered after that.
Have since looked at the mechanism and everything seems to be engaging correctly and the hood does not move if you try to pull up on it with it closed. Any tips or warnings are welcome. I don’t want to total my truck into oblivion waiting on parts if I can help it.
