I just found out about this product over the weekend. A buddy with a new Superduty told me he got rid of the double horn honk. I quipped, "Oh, you used Forscan?". He said, "Nope, just this little thing" and he held up a 4Dtech module that plugs into the port under the steering wheel, reprograms the computer, and then you remove it.

Here's another interesting product from them:

I'm giving the horn honk eliminator a try. Should be delivered today. I'll report back. It's worth the $99 to me to get rid of that (and not have to go down the road of Forscan right now).

Just throwing another option out there for folks to consider! Any feedback on this product - put it here!

Seems high compared to ForScan, but it does look easy.

Lol yes some body has taken the forscan mod and downloaded it so you just plug it in and don't have to mess with forscan, probably making a great profit off it. It's twice as expensive as forscan yet only does one thing.

There's no doubt someone is making a lot of money off of this, but I do like the simplicity. I've never used Forscan, but I understand it will not work on an Apple device, correct?

Oddly enough, the mod I would be most interested in is the Bambi mode. The double honk is kind of annoying, but it's not something that I would pay to disable.

Yeah, that's interesting. I don't care about Bambi mode, but absolutely despise the double horn honk that not only a) disturbs neighbors or the wildlife I'm trying to sneak up on and b) let's everyone know that my keys are indeed in my vehicle.

You're certainly paying for convenience here (time saving/learning curve compared to Forscan) and a bit of 'safety' I think. With the Forscan approach, I understand you need to be pretty careful about downloading the stock program, reprogramming it correctly, and ensure you have a machine that can run it with the right cables, and make sure you don't screw anything up. There's not another computer mod I'm REAL intrigued by yet so I'm punting a $100 bill to get rid of the horn honk now quickly and easily. I may still end up with Forscan in the future....or maybe I won't.

Do you know if this disables the double honk when you take your key with you and leave the truck running? My truck honks at me even when the key is NOT in truck but still leave it running.

It damn well better! That’s the main reason I’m doing it - to prevent the double honk when I get out of a running truck to open or close a gate, run in the house real quick, help a buddy load up, whatever.
We’ll see tonight!
I may have confused the issue with point b) above. What ends up happening for me is I pull up somewhere and leave the truck running, have to open and close the truck a few times, get out with the keys in my pocket and I get the honk. After a time or two, I throw my keys in the truck and go on about my business so it quits honking - but anybody that knows Fords will know that I’ve left my keys in it especially after hearing the double honk a couple times. That’s what I was getting at.

Happy to report that it works as advertised. It took LITERALLY less than 30 seconds to do. Super easy.
Ignition on (not running)
Plug device into port under dash
Wait for it to turn solid green
Done. No more horn honk.
I’ll verify functionality over the next day or so in different conditions.

I have been eyeing the Bambi mode module, can it be used more than once? And can you then change it back? Thanks

Right this is baffling. Anyone who buys this is foolish. $100 to enable a single thing? Buy a $50 cable and a free trial of Forscan and change multiple things.

I get it. Everyone has their own value position. Like I said for me, it was convenience and safety. I have a Mac computer at home. For me to go the Forscan route I would’ve had to buy/borrow a computer, source the program and cable and figure out the program, ponder over the instructions/method and make sure I had it all right, and hope I didn’t mess it up. It’s easy from what I read on here, but would’ve have taken at least an afternoon or so.

This thing was shipped to me in a couple days and literally took less than 30 seconds. I didn’t push a single button except to turn the truck on. Plus, I don’t have other changes I want to make at this point.

So for me it made sense (to me) to spend an extra $50 (I spill more than that out of my drinks 🥃 😏).

It ‘baffles’ me how some people pay to have a lift or suspension components installed. But, I have a shop, all the tools, and decades of experience. Others aren’t in the same boat.

Options = good.

That's a bit harsh. People pay for convenience and simplicity all the time. Some may consider going to a high end steakhouse foolish. Why pay $100 for your steak when you can cook the same steak at home for $30?

I will agree that buying several of these at $100 each would be silly, but if you really only want to change one thing, I can understand the attraction.

Guys that buy one should send em out for use for $25, recoup your money fast I’d bet.
That would work if it doesn't code it for that specific vehicle while it's plugged in. Set up a rental agreement.

The only 3 I am interested is so far is the double honk, Bambi mode and glare free.

I have not tried it, but their website says it codes to the first vehicle it’s plugged into, thereby making it useful on ONLY one vehicle.

Their website says it only works for one vehicle. It is coded to work with on then lock on the vehicle. I can be removed from obd2 port, but encrypts on that vehicle.

That's what I figured that it would do.
